Life has been interesting for you......... Wishing you peace and quiet for awhile. |
Glad to see you got power back. When I asked would you do it again, I meant sticking it out thru a hurricane and not evacuating, but you're question is a valid one, too. |
If I lived on one of the islands and a hurricane was coming, I would evacuate. I live on the mainland, so I would stay put. The first hurricane I was through, we evacuated to Georgia, in 2004, with 2 dogs and 1 cat. Stayed 2 days and then headed home to no electricity. So the next 3 hurricanes I was glad we stayed home. |
I think I would stay unless its a catagory 2 or higher. Problem is the shelters make you leave your dog in one facility and put you in another. I wasn't comfortable not being able to check on my dogs and/or allowing someone else to walk them in a hurricane! The friends I planned to go to were also forced to evacuate and all hotel rooms were booked. Next time, and there will be a next time, I will make hotel arrangements in advance just in case so we can all stay together.... |
Can't imagine going thru something like this, you do get more warning than we do with tornadoes but either one can do some terrible damage. Glad everyone is ok. |
