Wiggles Concert

We took Madelyn and Parker to the Wiggles here in Edmonton. It was a really good and fun concert. They LOVE the Wiggles and the place was packed.

I am now hoping Dora the Explorer comes to the city. Blues Clues is coming but we aren't going to see it...camping.

Man are we getting old, what ever happened to getting excited because Van Halen, or ACDC was coming in...now it's all about the kids....groan

Awe who am I kidding, we LOVED it too.

My 1 1/2 year old niece loves the Wiggles. I had to go thru the Teletubbies thing with my son at that age. Luckily he hated Barney!!! :D ! Now at 8, he prefers The Beatles, Pink Floyd and ACDC.
I know, what is up with those teletubbies...my kids were glued to it. They too never cared for Barney. At the concert they did imitations, Barney was one of them.

So was Pink Floyd I think, and Metallica. Guitar blurb.
Ahh, those were the days . .

My son Wallace loved Teletubbies, Barney and Thomas the Tank Engine. He even got to see Thomas in Chicago one year.

Then he progressed to SpongeBob - not my favorite but I have to admit the similarity to the Three Stooges was kind of fun.

Now what does he do/watch? Ugghh. Ed, Edd and Eddie on tv but mostly he lives for X-Box gaming when allowed.

As to music, he sings in the Atlanta Boy Choir but likes to listen to bagpipes, instrumentals and country music. Go figure.

Oh, to go back to simpler child entertainment . . .

:)
My kids actually don't like the Wiggles. It surprises me. Their big things are Dora, Blue's Clues, Sesame Street, Thomas the tank engine (ny 2 yr old has a Thomas obsession, lol), and superheroes like Batman, Superman, Spiderman. They're both also Star Wars fans, thanks to my hubby...lol My 3 yr old is trying to become a pro at the Xbox...I just wish they had more kid friendly games for him. His birthday is next month, and I think we're going to get him the Lego Star Wars game as one of his presents.

We took them to Sesame Street Live last year, and they both really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it too until they both started screaming for a $8 Elmo baloon - ouch! lol
We also went thru a brief Thomas stage....but Star Wars....very big around here. My sone and I are going to Star Wars weekend at MGM Studios at Disney at the end of the month (no, we are not standing in line to see the movie) as his graduation present for getting thru 2nd grade. We have been to this event before, there are Disney employees dressed as SW character and there are 2 actors or stage production people there for autographs. He once got picked out of the crowd to be a jedi in training and got to duel Darth Vader. You should of seen his face drop when Darth walked on stage :D !
I wouldn't give up living through the kids for anything. I FINALLY get the childhood I wanted.

Granted we too have to watch Spongebob, and my 4 yr old son loves Rescue Heroes. I don't let them watch anything like Yugioh...kinda stuff.

They are now begging us to go to Disneyland, we made it a goal to celebrate our 10yr anniversay by redoing our honeymoon trip to the states. We went through Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Disneyland and Vegas. I have a few more places to add...I also figure in 3 years they will be at an age to really have fun.
LOL, you are talking to one of the oldest Wiggle fanatics here....LOL We took Ashlan and Joey to the concert 2 years ago, we went with an another couple with children, and we both said, when our kids outgrow the Wiggles, we will be back. That is also why Jack is Jackson Wiggle, I talked the kids out of Wags the dog....LOL
Have you went to their Wiggly website and the message boards. The wiggles will get on and answer questions. We got our pictures taken with Murray and Jeff. This was when Anthony had his hernia surgery and Brett had taken over his spot. I am an Anthony fanatic, so I was dissapointed to say the least.....LOL
We have been to several of the Blues Clues concerts, and there is just as much fun energy there as was at the Wiggles concert, but just different. The kids seemed very entertained.
I actually like cartoons, so the mindless SpongeBob and Fairly Odd parents are among our favorites. However, I was disspointed in the Spongebob movie, I thought it was way to old for mine, but I am very "G" rated when it comes to my kids.
We don't allow the Yugio, or whatever the spelling is here either, or any of the fantasy violence stuff. However, it is so hard to find anything that isn't. We keep Joey, who is almost 5 in the Nick Jr and some of the Disney channel is ok to watch in the early hours, and we have allowed Ashlan to who is 7 1/2 start watching more shows, example is The Avatar the last airbender. I think it is cute, and Ashlan likes it, however the one time I let Joey watch it, he was practicing all the "cool" moves and about to take out the house with a few "air bending" tricks of his own.
My goodness, I am rambling, and still have more dog drying to do, and a few more litter boxes before my night is over. Sorry, there are a few things I can ramble with ease on, kids, cats, and of course our sheepies.
