My pup is 18 weeks old and has been with us for about 6-7 weeks. We had a problem with him jumping on us and nipping when he was being walked. We tried everything suggested but in time he went back to this behavior not only outside but inside as well. He would lunge at us and go for the bite, shoulders. chest, butt etc. I was so black and blue my body hurt. I have had an oes in the past and was expecting the oes herding thing but not his. I want to cry when I look at this little guy, because I don't understand what triggers this red zone. We had a trainer come in this week, and he started with leash commands. We repeat his excersize 4x a day. I believe that I do see some improvement in his behavior. We were told to stop the affection, and only reward him with a pat or two when he listens. I wonder as I look at this little guy if I will ever be able to hug and play with him without restraints. It is making me very sad knowing in the past what joy my past oes had brought to us. I know no 2 dogs are the same, but I wonder if there is some deep aggressive issues here and how I should manage him |

I am so sorry to hear that you are having such problems with your baby I can't imagine how hard it is for you to love him so much yet not be able to cuddle him. I sincerely hope that the situation improves and that all of the training will allow you and your puppy to have a great friendship. I wish for many cuddles in your future! |
Thank you we are praying for the same thing. I am determined to work with this little guy so that both of our lives can be happy and we get to that great bonding places that Oes's have with their owners. I will post updates and hopefully if the training methods work I will post them so others can pick up on more techinques that may assist them too. |

Keep training your pup, give him plenty of exercise and rest - and know that it will get better. Ours was a heinous puppy, but now she is a sweet 3 year old who likes to cuddle! It WILL get better! |
