No tattoo or microchip? I don't really understand how petfinder works. If this dog was lost, say perhaps by people travelling, would it not go to the Humane Society? How would her owners find her if she ended up at a small rescue-not slamming small rescues at all, I think they are great, just wondering how someone would find their lost dog with no network like a Humane Society has. I worried about this kind of thing when we went to Sheepiepalooza, Mady getting away and being lost with no way for us to find her (although she is both tattoes and microchipped). |
The small rescues could contact the Humane Society and let them know if anyone is looking for their pup,to call the small rescues. Just my thought. Robin |
Unfortunately no tattoo or chip This girl was obviously loved and is being missed by a family out there! The shelter had her for a month before they would let rescue step in to help place her. I was completely surprised that she had not been adopted so I asked why they thought she hadn't been. They said it was hard to find a family without children because they were told sheepdogs aren't good with kids I quickly did a short rant about how good they are with kids and it really depends on the dog not the breed. |

The shelter thought this? You would think that they would know better than to judge a dog by its breed. Nice chance for you to give them an education for the next sheepie they come across! |
I had the good fortune to meet and give Hanna a ride today. What a PERFECT dog! She will find a loving home soon. Her manners are amazing and she is cuddly too. peg & pup howie Thanks for the short visit Barb, nice to see you again. |
Awesome. She should find a wonderful home with that temperament. Good luck and please keep us posted. Robin |
I would contact Diane Buckland, she knows everyone and could probably direct you to the proper rescue person. |
Thanks for all the suggestions, folks! I think we've got her covered..: ) |
My parents recently lost their 11 yr old OES and the house is too quiet. They have put in an application for Hannah. Fingers crossed!!! |
I notice this morning that on the petfinder site it says that Hannah has been adopted. That is awesome! I hope wherever she is going that she will be happy. She reminds me of my little girl. |
Thanks to everyone that was involved!!!! Hanna will be joining us on our future play dates so I'll be able to keep all of you posted on her! |
