potty training

Although it is time consuming, I have found frequent trips outside to go potty very helpful with young puppies. I have put a bell by the door and although the pup is too young to understand the concept, I begin to introduce ring the bell to go outside. I also give a command for going potty. What ever word you like just stay consistant for business they need to do outside. I have also "limited" water consumption. By this I do not mean restrict all water just not to allow the puppy to drink water freely when ever it wants otherwise it will freely pee whenever it wants.

Just a few thoughts.

Jess,
I like the idea of the bell. I am going to try that!
yes, I stopped all drinking by 9:00 p.m. now it isn't so strict since I know he can hold it. I just wish he would sleep later. he starts dragging around about 9:30 and is ready for be by 10. he's ready to roll any time from 5:30-6:30.
