CASH WINDFALL...WHAT TO DO WITH THE MONEY??????
 Today, as I opened the mail from the past couple of days....(I just couldn't face THE MAIL)...  I got a letter from the trial secretary of the June 25th trial in which Heart came in 2nd place and titled in RAE!!! The letter stated that the 1st place exhibitor had entered the class in error so we moved up to 1st place and included in the envelope was a very pretty FIRST PLACE BLUE RIBBON...along with ............................TEN BUCKS!!!!!!!    Obviously, since this is the first time Heart won a cash prize of any amount, I am so excited!!!! But now, of course, I have to decide how to spend this well deserved prize!!!!  I am thinking.... Buy stock in glitter????? ( but with the way the market is down, I am very nervous 'bout doing this) Start a savings account for her??? (with me as a co-signer, of course) Take her to a good outdoor cafe and buy her a steak dinner?? Take her to a good outdoor cafe and blow the money on Cosmos for me and let her watch me get a buzz??? (the heck with Heart,,,after all,,,, she wouldn't have won had I not got her there... )any suggestions will be appreciated......MAJOR DECISION..I don't want to mess it up!!!!!!!  |

| Wow, Val! Welcome to the big league, baby! When I've won money (usually sweepstakes) the dog in question has very kindly bought me lunch. Once at a national the dog won enough that I could even buy the person who was grooming him for me lunch. Had they offered alcoholic beverages I would have skipped the lunch and bought very large libations for both me and his personal grooming attendant - this was Sunny's Luca, and lord knows we both could have used a good, stiff drink  When they buy me lunch they get to share. That's about it. I figure I wrote the check for training classes and entry fees and paid for the gas and on to get there, and, afterall, they get paid plenty (cookies) for their efforts whether they win or not, so they would WANT me to splurge a little on myself. Congratulations on the WIN!!  We all knew Heart had it in her. As for how to spend your well deserved prize:Millie has a suggestion........  spend it on bling!!! For Heart of course. After all a sheepie-girl can never have too much bling. The glitter idea is not so bad either  |

They suggest that they had better check it out first, before Heart risks going. Now that she has a pretty Blue Ribbon, she has to be careful about who she mingles with and where she is seen. She wouldn't want the PAWparazzi snapping her photo in the wrong place! |

She thinks she may have gotten a stress fracture, didn't take care of it...and the leg fractured all the way......  She has tyroid problems, since she was about 18 and thyroid is known to deplete calcium...so her doc is getting her on a calcium and vitamin D regimine....(sp).... She DOES have a very pretty purple cast, and when we all went to Rally last night..(Maureen, Keyne, me, Heart and Ceasar) (((our teacher is the BEST!!!! ))).....I made sure Heart wore her purple blingy bows with a very chic pink bandana with purple flowers..... at least 3 weeks in the cast.....we will see......  |

| Well, I asked Chewie, and the boy's opinion is a cheeseburger followed by a trip to the Tropical Moose. Seeing you can get the $1 burger, and the $1 canine cooler, this = FIVE fun and delicious trips!! I hope Maureen's leg heals quickly and well also! |
