http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/ ... itoes.html I believe the count is down to only 17 trillion mosquitos! Down from the usual 500 quadrillion! |

I think they came to Florida! |
A few of them made a detour here too. |
We are all really enjoying it actually, and thanks for noticing. We've had an unusually dry summer and there are next to NO mosquitos. Of course one heavy rain (expected tomorrow of course) can easily change all that. And the SWARMS of dragon flies we have this summer are fantastic. In the article they quoted our city bug guy, Taz Stuart. Many of us are fans of his, not just because of this. He has long, wild curly hair halfway down his back. Ask any random Winnipegger who their city entomologist and they can name him. Sheepie friends, can you name your city or town's official entomologist? I bet most of you cannot do so off the top of your head. So, Hudson and Rudy are big fans of Taz. And my school invited him in as a special guest reader for "I love to read" month, and he was great and now they all want to grow up and be him....and the girls loved his hair. He even prepped for it, and brought the (then) Scaredy Squirrel book, and wore a shirt that matched the cover. Pretty cool guy that Taz. |
