North Carolina

I don't know if I should post this here or even if it is appropriate. Apparently Carolina Shores, a backyard breeder here in North Carolina, is "changing out" its "breeding stock" and dumping one of their females. This ad is in the Raleigh News-Observer. Is this a dog that needs to be rescued??

Thanks.

I see a price on this dog. I dont think they are just
kicking it out on the street. it looks like they are trying
to rehome the dog. I think that is what a lot of breeders
do when they invest in a nice dog and for some reason it
does not work out for them to breed it. Sometimes its the
best thing for the dog not the breeder. Its my understanding
even show breeders have to do this every once in a while.
Maybe I am wrong but I see this as a good thing, not a bad.
I am sure they are probably hearbroken about having to relocate
this dog, but its the best for the dog. I guess if they were just
trying to GET RID of the dog they would just take it to the
shelter and drop it off. It looks like maybe they are trying to
do the right thing. It seems like if all breeders did this we would
not be seeing the poor dogs breed to death then tossed out.
Was this dog ever breed ? From the pictures it looks like it is
in excellent health.
kayc1218.... this is most definitely a dog for sale, not appropriate for the rescue section, or the forum in general. I know your heart is in the right place... but still...

guest aka sheepdog lover (it is easy to tell who you are by your style of posting), since I personally am pretty sure you are the byb kayc is referring to your post is self serving and I am tempted to move the whole thread however I decided to leave it and remove the links and email address so that members can discuss it if they wish.

In regards to the situation itself, yes some breeders re home dogs after retiring from showing and breeding, or even after growing a dog up who just doesn't turn out to be as it should to represent and continue the breed. That in itself is not a "rescue" situation, however with byb and puppymills it's hard to leave them in what we think and feel is a horrible life but buying them only perpetuates the problem putting more money in their pockets to buy more dogs to breed and produce health issues, rescue messes, and just poor representation of the breed itself in general.
RIGHT ON STACEY!!!!!
you go girl stacy
shame shame on the guest !!! we all know who you are

Thanks Kay

Rescue would gladly help with Sugar Babe if asked to do so.
They do know there are rescue groups in the area :|

By the way it dos say on the web site that she is retired so I assume that means she had puppies
I looked at the website, It looks like Carolina Shores works with
rescue, and or that they have rescued dogs. I looked for Sugar Babe,
I could not find her, I do see where Stormie has retired. I was trying
to find a picture of Sugar Babe just to see what she looks like.

I will not share the web site where she is posted as it is not a place I would want to promote.

This is directly from her the web site
"Sugar has retired and is looking for a loving family that wants an adult not a puppy. Please let us know if you are interested in adopting her."
I am not saying anything about the breeder in particualar as I do not know her...just quoting what it says.

Why all the "guest" posts??
If you would like to know where I have seen her listed you can sign in, pm me and I will gladly tell you
Oh thanks, I did find it on her website. KayC already has posted she is
in the Raleigh News-Observer, but thanks anyway. I can just call
her from her website phone number.

Good Luck and my guess is you already know her number since you got a puppy from her before.
It is posted in the reviews
