Not for 30+ years. Have you considered doing just refrigerator pickles? If you are up to your pits in cucumbers, then yeah, regular pickles are probably better as refrigerator ones have a short life span......weeks, not months. |
Yup - I do pickles. Just finished doing dill pickles, bread and butter pickles, and pickle relish. We don't do the refrigerator pickles as the old-fashioned canning method allows longer storage, and a stronger dill flavor. But folks who don't have canning equipment do enjoy the refrigerator pickles and it is a good way to get started. Got our recipe from www.food.com and it is titled "Blue Ribbon Dill Pickles Recipe."
