Getting Teddy ready for the next show
We'll leave at 9am friday morning since we don't show until 2pm and again at 4pm and then come home in the evening. If traffic isn't bad, it should be a few hour drive each way. However, Chicago traffic can never be predicted! I look forward to meeting more OES people! Too bad I can't stay longer to socialize. This work thing gets in the way of my life.....lol Hopefully, I can get someone to take pictures and video of us in the ring. I just spoke with my breeder Karen and asked her about doing anymore trimming before the show and she said "don't touch the scissors or clippers!"......lol It's only been 2 weeks since she straightened out some of his coat boo-boo's and he should still be fine. I've never claimed to be a good groomer with the scissors.  So Teddy and I will be flying solo this time and I won't have Karen to use as my crutch for the grooming before the show. I've learned a lot from her and will still continue to learn as I go along. Wish us luck for Friday!  I'll update with how we did on Friday night. Cindy |

| Oh Good luck!! You will do great!!! I'm off friday after court hearing (Final YEAHHH)   to fly out to visit my boy  and watch him show...... I miss him so  I've already been told to "come to the show and 'enjoy"  the show.....and i cannot 'go see him'  until AFTER he is finished showing for the day. But he will get to come with me for the night Saturday night!!  Don't know if i will be able to take this for 5 more months!!!!  |

| Well, here's my observational version of the grand specialty debut, Cindy can fill in the blanks: They both looked great. Teddy did some happy puppy leaps in sweeps, and, having gotten that out of his system, he and Cindy both settled down for the two specialty shows and showed really, really well. They were in a class with a really mature looking 8 month old puppy shown by his long time breeder I knew it was going to be hard to beat - sure enough, the 8 mos old puppy ended up going Best of Winners the second show. Two months can make a big difference at that age, but Teddy did his heritage proud. They both did. And, oh, my god, he was so calm on the table, on his side being line brushed like he'd been out showing for years, all in a days work, m'am. Great meeting you guys and nice start!  Kristine |
Not to hijack the thread for something so stupid but I just noticed I totally botched your name Kristine... I do know what your name is, that's so not like me!  Sorry..... Working, puppies (aka no sleep for over a month), dog shows and kids who really need to go back to school are my excuses. I was actually late for work this morning for the first time EVER. I slept in almost an hour past when I was supposed to be there LOL |
Wow Kristine, thank you for the glowing review!  I knew it would be a tough class when I saw the other boy. Other than Teddy's silly puppy stuff in sweeps, I was pleased with how he did. I'm always much more critical of myself on how I do, so thank you for the encouragement!Yes, he is very good on the table. I started brushing him on the table from the first week I got him at 9 weeks old. I think I started him laying on his side at about 3 months old to get him used to that. I'm was really surprised at the first show a few weeks ago how well he behaved on the table with all the other dogs and people around. That's about the only time he doesn't act like a 6 month old puppy....lol Sandy took pictures for me so I'll get those posted later. It was so nice to meet you and everyone else! Thank you all for helping me and making some room for my table and stuff! That was a huge help for me and Teddy.I'm at work, so I'd better get to it for awhile.....lol Cindy |

I sometimes get frustrated with his silliness in the ring but I'd rather have that than him not having fun. I think it makes the judge smile also, either that or they're thinking why didn't she train that dog better....lol I guess I don't notice his size so much because I'm with him everyday, but I guess he is getting big. I need to stop by the vets again to weigh him. He must be about 50 pounds by now. And a big thanks to everyone for all your support and congrats! Cindy |
