A Brave, Sweet Little Pom Girl By Homeward Bound Rescue League Canton Michigan 29 photos Here's an example of why we do what we do. A few days ago, this sweet girl was found wrapped in a towel on the hood of a car (yes, in the 90+ degree heat). It appears someone poured a chemical on her to rid of a maggot infestation, which in turn, burned her skin severely. She will require twice daily treatment of the chemical burns (which are very painful) and lots of round the clock care. Her vet bills are expected to be high, but we are committed to getting her through this. When I met her yesterday, she was resting comfortably in a cushy bed and softly kissed my hand and sweetly listened as I told her that not all people are terrible, like the person who did this to her and then abandoned her. She's quite brave and seemingly grateful for the treatment and relief. In an effort to raise awareness and donation to help us care for this brave little girl, we will be holding a contest to name her. Details will be posted this weekend, so stay tuned. She is safe and in good hands now, but please keep her in your thoughts as she battles this inhumane injury. Any donations are greatly appreciated and needed. You can visit our website for ways to donate (including by mail and paypal, or visiting us at adoption events on Saturdays in Canton, MI). http://www.HBRLMI.org . |
