| It says he's not at the shelter but in their R.A.I.N. Program. I tried to find info on it but couldn't. Location Not in facility/R.A.I.N. Program Maybe it's a foster program or people holding their pets until a home can be found? Obviously just guesses! |
| OK- I asked my sister Sherry about the shelter - if they were OK, no kill, all that. This is her response: I do know they call themselves a "humane society" and are working towards being a no kill shelter(for adoptable animals). I have heard good things, but have never been there. I would think they are like the KS Humane Soc that we volunteer at in that this time of year is the WORST.. completely full to the gills. I'm sure they would appreciated him going to a breed rescue. Between the economy, the heat and just the fact it's historically a busy time of year. I would think he's in a good place, but it would be better for him to be w/a breed rescue. Last time I was at the Wichita Animal Shelter & the KS Hum Soc.. they were both absolutely packed. hope that helps. Let me know if i need to run over there. So - can MO-Kan check with these guys??? Oh Jennie.....  My sister is in Towanda, east of Wichita, and the shelter is in Newton, north of Wichita. It's about 40 miles, so not too bad. |

| OK, found out he is with their courtesy listing program (R.A.I.N.) and not actually in the shelter. I will contact the owner and see if they want any placement help. The shelter/rescue coordinator volunteer said that large breeds are very difficult to place and they have not received any inquiries about him since he came in to their program on the 11th.  |
| Sorry, I haven't been on the forum much lately! Brodie has already found a home. MoKan is on the back-up list should it fall through. |
