I have been noticing that Aska's left ear is beginning to kind of turning in... it's kind a hard to explain, they aren't like this anymore: http://www.google.is/imgres?imgurl=http://www.myfreewallpapers.net/nature/wallpapers/labrador-retriever.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.myfreewallpapers.net/nature/pages/labrador-retriever.shtml&usg=__4Z5dp-ia-dhZoLbUcJYl3A5jqBA=&h=768&w=1024&sz=202&hl=is&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=elO-b52na5MzCM:&tbnh=163&tbnw=216&ei=NmsHTrSoBcWn8QPvocTkDQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dlabrador%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dis%26biw%3D1197%26bih%3D649%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=480&vpy=89&dur=417&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=135&ty=99&page=1&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0&biw=1197&bih=649 These ears are straight forward but her left ear is kind of going like this: http://www.google.is/imgres?imgurl=http://www.labrador-retriever-guide.com/images/darcyheadandsholuders.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.labrador-retriever-guide.com/labradorearinfection.html&usg=__D2hV1UrWQJSRdEfE4-txVOWwQfs=&h=448&w=336&sz=28&hl=is&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=t7UT284XYT0KRM:&tbnh=171&tbnw=138&ei=qmsHTsiaC8G48gP3zJ3-Dw&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dlabradors%2Bears%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dis%26biw%3D1197%26bih%3D649%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=372&page=1&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0&tx=67&ty=107&biw=1197&bih=649 Do you know if there is any way to prevent this ? And why it's going like this, well it doesn't really metter when she's in full coat but I'm curious about it.. I'll try to take a picture of it tonight and post it, then you maybe see what I'm talking about And my other question is why she gets mad when other dogs sniff her rear She doesn't like it at all!, I thought dogs said hi that way... She just growls then barks at them Please tell me what you think about this Thank you |

Will wait until I see her pictures because the second lab picture......I didn't see a problem. The ears change as they mature......Jack truly has unique ears and often he holds them above his head and they are inverted. He also has an extra skin flap which I must really be careful when grooming. I'm not sure you can modify ears other than thru surgery and this isn't a case for that. Just consider it a unique trait of your dog and giggle or be proud. None of us are identical and neither are our dogs. |
How old is she & is she spayed? |
Thanks Susan And no I don't really care about it at all, Just wanted to check if it wasn't something bad Will post pictures today Marilyn she's turning 2 now at September 1st And no she's not spayed |
Well, she may be giving off an odor (either getting ready to come into or go out of season) & that's why the others are interested in smelling her. Some girls can get quite touchy during this time. They will only want to be smelled when they are ready to be bred & will let the other dogs know in no uncertain terms that they are off limits if not at that point. She might also have a slight uterine discharge or slight infection that is giving off a scent. Or it could be something like a very small sebaceous cyst that is giving off a scent. Totally unoticeable to us but very interesting to other dogs. |
Marilyn thank you so much for your answer, this explains alot! But she has been like this since I remember, but still this makes sence I guess I just have to take her to the wet and ask them if it isn't just for the best to get her spayed... Or ask them if she has an infection! , I hope not! Thanks |
