Personally, I prefer Victoria. She recorded an episode with two oes, bumble an doogle. She addressed excessive barking, jumping and nipping all common issues at some times for us oes parents. Anyone else see it? I thought her methods were very good and showed compassion and respect for the dogs at all times without intimidation tactics. Jenn |

I think different methods of training will work with different types of personality of dogs. You need to build a bond with your dog. A relationship. Some dogs need an easier approach than others. You need to know your dog. I like Victoria. But not sure her methods will work with all dogs. And Cesar, well, I'm not sure his method will work either. Every dog is individual. Every dog has inherent traits. To find the best way to tain, you need to know your dog. Of course, I NEVER agree with hard tactics, negative tactics, or anything that may hurt your dog. I don't believe in hitting or harsh corrections. I don't think those tactic work no matter what personality your dog has! |
Ah yes, Bumble and Doogle! Those tactics didn't work for Jack, but Cesar's did. So yes, different tactics for different dogs. They are all unique and one method won't work for all. |
I also saw that show with Bumble and Doogle. Positive training is the ticket. Training is not a one concept fit all. Just my thoughts. Robin |
I remember seeing it last year. I think it was in Kent, England. They were well named! Wasn't one of the solutions more exercise? If I remember correctly they ended up swimming in the sea with life jackets on! Nik |
Speaking of animal shows...has anyone seen the TV show Bad Dog on Animal Planet? I watched it tonight for the first time and there was a Husky who left his house and went to a local pet store and stole a large rawhide bone.It was on the evening news and all caught on tape. The owners realized it was their dog and took the dog back on leash and he went straight to the same aisle and grabbed the same rawhide bone again. The owner said it is the same bone he gets for Christmas every year.My first thought was how is your dog able to go that far off leash. The show was funny and what a smart dog. my mother's friend took her doberman to the grocery every week, but he stayed in the car where she could see him most of the time. he got loose at home, about 12 blocks away and through the auto doors and jumped in the meat section. the manager knew who to call and she came and retrieved him. yes, he did startle a few shoppers. |
