Best low protein food?

| I had Wilby on Science Diet L/D and he did really well on it! Not a fan of SD but, for him it helped with his liver enzymes. You may want to also ask your vet about adding cholodin or a similar supplement! Good Luck |
| My 12 year old Pooh Bear is on Science Diet l/d formula for 1 1/2 years for his elevated levels. He had an ultra sound done and was found to have a liver tumor at that time. I supplement him with milk thistle, fish oil, vitamin C and some glucosamine also. He has been doing well on the food. I will add some veggies in with it also. The vets where we take Pooh had toured the Science Diet facility and were very impressed with the cleanliness at the plant. Did your vet do an ultra sound on your dog? |
| Yes, he's had an ultrasound & biopsies of his liver & stomach. They found nothing, but suspect he has a shunt which is blood vessels leaking into the liver. I wish i could have an actual diagnosis, but don't. Because of his elevated liver enzymes(which are still elevated but not too high) we have him on a pill called zentonil advanced, it has milk thistle in it, & he's always taken glucosamine.
