http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/ ... still.html Does anyone know if there are any sheepies there that need help (or any of our favorite breeds, for that matter)? Or in Alabama. |

I've been wondering about that and saddened by the numbers. Lets all hope that Petathon is successful and all the animals are given a chance at a new life. It must be extremely difficult for those who lost their homes to also have to not claim their pets but as the article stated - some simply can't as they have no housing themselves. The whole situation is sad. My heart goes out to all the people and animals of Joplin. Marianne |
That is so sad. Just like Katrina. Hopefully the petathon helps and others step up too. |
the Joplin Humane society website has several pets pictured, and says they are attempting to get more photos up. Right off the bat, I'm tempted to make the drive for that Corgi.... |
You can view some of the pets needing new homes here... http://www.joplinhumane.org |
Jaci, Thanks for the link. I didn't see any sheepies or 'dales but I did see a Great Pyr and a Basset. And even though it was very sad seeing all these homeless pets, I couldn't help but laugh when I saw the very last entry. It was a hermit crab. And what was even funnier is that it said "purebred". |
Really heartbreaking to see all of those poor homeless animals. I looked and didn't see any sheepies either. So many cats too--and yes a purebred Hermit Crab!! I hope their Adopt-a-Thon is super successful! |

I am thankful there are people who are willing to spend their time and money to help. I also feel so bad for all the families who have had to make such hard decisions. Our city had sent a caravan of supplies to help,it is a way of giving back to others in need. Robin |
