There wasn't the usual running round the bedroom like a lunatic banging the radiator ,wardobes and cabinets with his tail as he tried to wag it off. He refused to go for a walk then he refused his lunch so off to the vets we went . His temp was very high and his glands were up in his throat .That had me panicking The vet tried to open his mouth and he wouldn't let her anywhere near him so he had to be took in for sedation . We went to pick him up and we got told he has a 5cm hole just above his left tonsil .It's very deep and needed 4 stitches to close it up. Vet thought it was a stick injury but i informed her it was infact a whale bone injury Kenley is now in bed feeling very sorry for himself . |

I think you know more than most why i panicked Kathy We had a live sperm whale washed up last week that unfortunately didn't make it back out to sea .A PM was done on it whilst on the beach Trust Kenley to find a bit they didn't clear up |

Oh how frightening! So happy Kenley is on the mend. |
Gawd how scary and a first too a dog and a whale bone Glad your baby is OK now. |
Wow, a whale bone! Around here it would be a deer rib bone I guess. Hope Kenley is on the mend now...ouch! |
I can just imagine the scare you had. sixpence wrote: We went to pick him up and we got told he has a 5cm hole just above his left tonsil .It's very deep and needed 4 stitches to close it up. 1 centimeter = 0.393700787 inches Please tell me that it's millimeters instead. I'm going with millimeters or I might pass out just thinking about a 2" wound in his mouth. Ouch... even that would be really painful. Heal quickly, buddy! And no more running around with... whale bones! |
to Kenley. Glad he is on the mend- |
Glad to hear he's on the mend! Cindy |

bless him, so glad he's on the mend, i bet if you'd had a game of, "guess what my dog had stuck?" no one would have guessed correctly. |
My poor lad discovered this morning he can't play with his toys yet .He picked one up screamed in pain and had a slight accident He's wondering around the house at the moment whinging because he can't do anything. He has managed his meal and 3 horse tablets |
Quote: It's cm's Oh baby boy It's no wonder he isn't playing. I'd monitor him for fever a couple of times a day... just to be sure it isn't getting infected and that the antibiotic is working. |
I am doing .His temp is up at the moment but vet said it might be up for a day or 2 . According to the vet who did the op he has really cleaned it out as he thought they might of been something in the wound. So He is sat looking out of the window at the moment watching all his friends play on the beach |
Oh poor Henley. What a scare for you! Hope he feels better soon and can play! |
Just me being the worrier! I try to catch things early before a problem can become an even bigger one. Quote: He is sat looking out of the window at the moment watching all his friends play on the beach That's just sad. Hugs to Kenley. Bumble can't play outside right now either. |
