1 13 oz can premium dog food 1 cup flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 lb beef liver simmered in a little water until cooked. 2 whites 12 oz low or nonfat cream cheese, softened Preheat oven to 350 and butter a 9 inch round cake pan. Sift together flour and baking powder, set aside. Take cooled cooked liver and grind in blender or processor to form a smooth paste. Turn into large bowl and mix thoroughly with canned dog food. Beat egg whites to form soft peaks and fold carefully into dog food mixture. Add flour mix and fold carefully, trying to retain the lightness. Place into prepared pan and bake 35-45 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cool and frost with soft cream cheese. Decorate with dog biscuits. I guess you could Also serve Frosty Paws for a true "cake and ice cream" party. |

We have Luke and Beau's 8th birthday coming up in June. This will be perfect and they love frosty paws. Thanks SheepieBoss. |
Not that I'm one to gild the lily but I'm thinking....decorate the top of the cake with shredded carrots and cherry tomatoes cut in half...or tint the frosting with beet juice or tomato juice....or |
Isn't tomatoe bad for dogs?
I would decorate with a touch of cream cheese. |
My dogs adore cherry tomatoes. I only allow a few each week but have never heard they are bad for them. Does anyone know? |
While we're on the food subject-- is there any problem with giving a dog strawberries? My mom's dog used to eat raspberries right off the bushes and he never got sick or anything but I wasn't sure if strawberries were different. |
I've never had a problem with strawberries. Three of my dogs like them. |
Clyde seems to like them too. I dropped one on the floor and then he played with it for a minute then ate it. I turned around from the counter and he was waiting for more. |
