Growth Rate
Dexter will be 6 months old this Saturday. Yesterday he was 55 pounds and 22-23" at the shoulder. His mom weighs 75, dad 85. His growth rate is slowing, now at 1 1/2 - 2 pounds per week. He weighed 17 pounds when he joined us at 10 weeks old. I know there are a lot of variances in dog size but is Dexter's size average for a 6 month old dog? |

| Welll there's a word for what that "breeder" was saying....lol.... BS Anyway, your pup is growing normally. There are no actual size limits for our breed, there is a minimum height but not maximum, the main thing a breeder should be looking for is balance, a big dog or a smaller dog doesn't matter if he is balanced and sound conformationally and mentally. |
| Just to give you Dahlia's specs.... She will be 6 months old on June 24th. She weighs 55 lbs and is about 23-24 in. She was 20 lbs at 8 weeks. Her momma is 75lbs and her poppa is 90lbs. |
