Carol~~GREAT beginning 2012 invite to our wonderful SHEEPIEPALOOZA~~~~~ :high5: :high5: :high5:

As Carol blogged, she is the SHEEPIEPALOOZA 2012 FORUM LIASION~

It was unanimous decision and we all are looking forward to Carol blogging abut the the planning and anticipation of our next get together!

I had soo much fun being the Forum Liasion for the 2011 event, threading all the new and exciting things we had planned, responding to your posts, getting to know alot of you before meeting at the hotel, getting the information out here etc...

BUT~~ I can't be the only one who has all the fun! :(

For those of you who could not attend this fun, sheepiepacked event this year....PLEASE consider adding it to your 2012 vacation possiblities.

Because of your enthusiasm about 2012, our club decided to begin the 2012 agenda ASAP!!!

As Suzi stated...putting a couple of dollars away in a SHEEPIEPLAOOZA 2012 'cookie jar' every day will guarentee that you AND your sheepie will have the time of your life here in the LOU~
:clappurple: :clappurple: :excited: :excited: :clappurple: :yay: :yay: :yay:

C'mon oes.org-ers!!
You've got one year to plan for this. We want to see ALL of our friends at Sheepiepalooza 2012!!

If I can drive 14 hours straight, and Carol & Ron can drive 18 hours, and David & Kim can drive ~18 hours, and Barb & Rob can drive ~15 hours, then there is no excuse not to come!

So make those plans now!
May 28, 2012 is Memorial Day...for those who don't know Memorial Day is the last Monday in May. :) (traditional memorial day is may 30th)

Thank you for clarifying this for the Canadians! And thank you to the St. Louis club for taking this on again-we had so much fun and look forward to next year.
Carol (and Val & Judi),
Can I make a suggestion?
You guys may want to think about updating your STLOES.org website with the Sheepiepalooza 2012 info (at least as you know it now).
And how about pictures & videos from past Sheepiepaloozas so that people can see how much fun they are?

And maybe get every sheepdog website and club to link to your site so that word gets out there.
Aaaaaaah!

I hope I can find the right sheepie girl soon so we too can join everyone next year.
Nows the time to start pressuring Troy into going. A full year, I should be able to talk him into going. Frankies all ready to show everyone his new moves.

Joanna,
You don't necessarily need a sheepie to attend.
I was going to go with just my airedale when my ex surprised me and said I could take Zeke.

And there were a few people there this year without dogs. Kathy J. being one of them.
And let me tell you, those with multiple dogs would appreciate the help those without dogs can offer. :)

Awesome!!!
With or without sheepie, we will be there! :excited:
Joanna, I was one of the few that didn't have a sheepdog, so make your plans now!!! Sheepies can always use an extra auntie or two!

Great Paula! If we get a sheepie by then you have to be her auntie.
If not, I'll join you in spoiling the nieces and nephews! I'm totally in!!
Checked calendar, nothing scheduled, Fri-Mon heading to St. Louis. It's a 5-6hr drive from Cincy.

I'm so glad you're coming with or without a sheepie. You'll have a wonderful time.

Mark,

Josh is our webmaster and he is busy working on uploading photos from Sheepiepalooza 2011. I'm not sure about previous Sheepiepaloozas. Judi should know the answer to that question.
We have never been to one, but I would Love to come!
You'll have a great time!

You'll have to come and see what everyone is talking about! We've been to all of them and plan on going as long as they hold them.
I already told my husband we're going. If he changes his mind then me and my oldest daughter will go. Either way Ryleigh and I will be there! :clappurple:

I'm glad we haven't committed to any of our travel schedule for next year yet, because we're so eager to come back to Sheepie Palooza. We actually have a conflicting invitation to be at a work-realted event that weekend. Guess I'm going to have to tell them we can't come-- Sheepie Palooza is MUCH more important!!!!

VAL--YOU GO GIRL!! I have a feeling you and I would be dangerous shopping together!!

I have decided it will be fun to buy ONE wonderful SHEEPIE ITEM PER MONTH from June of this year until we attend SHEEPIEPALOOZA next May--a shopping countdown so to speak! It will be my way of contributing MORE to SHEEPIE RESCUE! :clappurple: :clappurple:
I will ONLY buy things that I LOVE and hopefully they will have two of each item-so that I don't have to bid on my own contributions at the auction!!

:wag: :wag: :wag:
I SO LOVE SHOPPING FOR A GOOD CAUSE!! :yay: :D :D
It really is a terrific thing to do for those who like shopping. You get the buzz of finding that terrific sheepie item, then you get another buzz from watching people bid, then yet another buzz from thinking of the sheepies that get help from the money raised!
:clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :yay: :excited: :yay: :excited: :excited: :yay: :excited:
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Next year we are going to have the best auction yet!!!!

I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO

:clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
Nick and I are attending with or without sheepie. Already marked on our calendar

Can someone tell me more about the auction? Do we donate sheepie related items? hand made items? any items?
Is it open to the public or just sheepiepalooza attendees?

Thank you Kim :clappurple: , a valid point indeed. A serious breech of etiquette, I would be appalled.

However, you did see those lovely sheepie sunglasses first, and I suppose its only right...

BUT..........nice guys finish LAST.....and I ADORE SUNGLASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I, of course, will be the shill bidder, there to drive up the price. I don't want the sunglasses, but I'll make sure a good sum is made for rescue!!!

Joanna, the auction proceeds traditionally go to a rescue. This year Midwest OES Rescue was the recepient. Not at all items are sheepie-related but most are. Several people made baskets from the state/province they live in with items representing their hometown. The auction was open to the people who were at the picnic. There were some fierce bidding wars!
This year the auction was so much fun and lots of money went to rescue.
Nect year looks like it could get ugly! Lots of fun to come!
Looking forward to it!

Note to self. Start shopping....

Yes Carol--do start shopping-- and we can compare notes!! I am thinking we can reach a new goal amount next year if we plan ahead!! :clappurple: :clappurple: :yay: :yay:
Joanna, So glad you and Nick are coming to Sheepiepalooza. You're going to love it! :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

The oral auction consists mostly of sheepie related items and the proceeds go to OES rescue. It is only for Sheepiepalooza attendees! Just to name a few items at this years event, we had tennis shoes with sheepies on them, (which were just adorable), a beautiful collage made up of photos from previous Sheepiepalooza events in the shape of a sheepdog!!! Gorgeous hats and scarves made out of sheepie fleece for the uprights, and my personal favorite.......a denim cowboy hat and bandana that I bought for Jake. :D Of course, Val bought the pink cowgirl hat for Heart among other things!!! :D

Everyone was very generous with their donations and each and every item was amazing! There was something for everyone!!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
I have been shopping too.....AND some of my 'sheepiestuff' is to DIE for~~~~ Sooooooo...it will be very interesting at the 2012 auction!!!!!

I can't wait to outbid EVERYONE!~~!!!!!! :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited:

Paula??????

Remember this picture?????????????????????? I STILL have the roll in the basement.....

(hint...hint....hint....)

:ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
Next year I don't let David control the bidding paddle. We were happy to have won Dawn's gift basket (the wine is gone already, it was lovely). Next year I plan on going home with more. I am going to ask Jake to take care of David-he was good at distracting David by demanding cuddles from him. David couldn't resist!
Jake would be thrilled to distract David and get some cuddling!!!! :D

I plan on buying more next year too. There's always such a nice variety of items it's hard to choose!
This looks like so much fun, I am putting it on our calender. Kirby has never met another sheepie! I think it is time.

Really wish we could go but in all reality we would have to take quite a bit of time off of work to go. Driving straight (no sleep) it would take us 1 day 11 hrs (35 hrs) to reach sheepiepalooza. It literally is on the other side of the country for us but I do look forward to all of next yrs sheepie pictures from the event! I really enjoyed them.
Winston and I are SO EXCITED about this news!!! We have never been to one of these being new to the OES community and sheepies myself, so we will DEFINITELY be there!! :yay:
Oh it is tonz of fun! We cannot wait!

Gigi and Bogey loved being in hotels! However, Gigi was not crazy about the 18 hours in the car. But it was worth the trip!
I have not been yet but Carley said she is ready for the trip. We have been busy trying to sell our old house for the last 2 years. The closing was Friday. Now we will actually have time to do fun stuff!!!!!! From what I have seen it sounds like a lot of fun.
It also sounds like several others from the Cincinnati area are going. We will be there.
I am new to this, can anyone explain the auction to me. Should I be looking for sheepie stuff? I am planning on coming - so far. If Greg won't come, one of my kids will come with Kirby and me.
I had to dig up this old post so I could be sure that our names were in the mix officially. Jen, Caitlyn, Zoey and I will be there! We may even be able to drag along our new friends Harmony, Craig, Hurricane and Tiramisu. They're the young couple we met in Tipp City who have the two Sheepies. Turns out they live about 5 miles from us. Can your say regular playdates?!

As soon as details are posted, we'll be placing reservations and planning.

See you all in May if not sooner!
Vance
OH MAN OH MAN I am SO excited about this. Since I just got my sheepie this past May I was not able to go but I am so excited for 2012! Also, I am from "The Loo" so I will get to see family and friends too! YAY.
:lmt: 893 miles........ :lmt:

See ya there! :)

I'm so happy you got in contact with Harmony! She was so nice! Great to hear!

Cindy
Sounds great! :D

The more the merrier!
Now how am I convincing Better Half, to drive 3,900kms with Harriet in the back seat...
I just realized yesterday that Caitlyn's one year birthday will be the Sunday that we're in St Louis!!!!

This should make for one memorable birthday!

You tell him that we will be there and will buy him a pint!
Remember everyone!!!

WE ARE IN THE MIDWEST!!!!!!

RIGHT SMACK IN THE MIDDLE~~~~

If Mark (camval) can attend...from NY

IF Daivid (Mady) and Kim can attend... Canada

We even had a man attend from...........Brazil

CA??? MN???? IL??? oh...I can go on and on and on!!!!!

Then anyone can make it~~~~~~~

AND WE do expect...
EVERYONE to attend~~~~~

And don't forget Carol (oesmom2).
She came a long way, too.

no~~~ didn't forget her....*sorry*..
YES--it is worth the drive!! AND...I am still having fun buying ONE great SHEEPIE item each month for the AUCTION! Hopefully we can DOUBLE the donation for a RESCUE!! More attendance means MORE shoppers!! :D :D :D
Oh yes we drove a long long way. It was worth it! 18 - 19 hour drive.
My drive was about 14 to 14.5 hours but I had to make a stop in Columbus, OH to get (and then drop off) my other boy. The white & gray shaggy one. :)

How about your trip, David & Kim? And Barb & Rob?
How many hours were your trips?

Maybe we should give out a long distance award at next year's Sheepiepalooza.
We're looking at a scant 360 miles, 6 hours, give or take. Piece of cake to an ex-semi driver!
