|
Funny story about a UK play date.... I had a dream the other night that I was in England and missed the play date by a few hours! What an odd dream to have Hope you can all get together! |
I would love to go on this playdate. I need to win the lottery so that I can buy my own plane where all of the North American dogs can ride in the cabin with us! |
Ahoy there! Weekends are best for me, Saturdays are ideal as that will give me a chance to recover on Sunday before work! I really want to catch up with all you guys again & meet new sheepie friends! What does everyone else think? |
Hi Cassie, is this where we went before? Saturday is a lovely idea but you might get lots of kids? not sure? |
ok so are we all up for a saturday??? how about the month. july, august or september??? and does anybody know of any parks in birmingham that wont be that busy? were having a sheepie day |
not spent any time in Birmingham, just passed through a few times, we're hoping you aim for septemberish, we won't have a sheepie til then, just the boxers and the pom lol. i know sheffield is supposed to be very green and open, i lived there for a few months and it certainly wasn't where i lived, not sure if sheffield is as central. we're in the east midlands so midlands is fab for us if we have a teeny tiny puppy (in time) less traveling. end of summer might be better all around really if the weathers not so warm kids will be in with the xbox instead of out with the football. maybe some kind of nature trail would be worth a look if the ramblers aren't out it might be quiet. http://www.dogfriendlybritain.co.uk/res ... mit=search might help |
September is good, kids will be back to school and hopefully will still be sunny! As for where i dont mind as long as its centrsl so its fair for everyone Somewhere without water would be great as i just wont see bill as he believes he was a duck in a previous life! So... september on a saturday?? |
a september saturday sounds fab i just hope our little one is ready to go out or we'll miss it here where we are in the east midlands there's Rufford park which is full of ducks geese and lakes so not great for reincarnated ducks and of course sherwood forest where tourists love to take pics near a fenced off tree, i love watching them walk to a tree say ooh robin hood lived there then they ignore the rest of the forest lol. alan works with someone who's spouse is from birmingham so hopefully he can get a few ideas. . derby is central and apparently riddled with picturesque places to visit surely some must be dog friendly. the site i linked before lists a dog friendly castle in birmingham that might be fun. any ideas how many people are likely to go? i'd love to see a field of sheepies |
say a date then first 3rd, 10th...I am easy...although knowing my luck Summer will decide to be in season! That placve we went in Brum was nice, can you remember the name Cassie? or Karen? or Kim? or Archies Slave? |
Don't think i can make it .Birmingham is a bit far for me |
just did the maths our new baby won't be ready to go out out i'm gutted we'll miss it. alan's work mate is off this week but he'll ask as soon as she's back. |
This is the place where we've met up in previous years: http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/kingsburywaterpark there is a campsite nearby if anyone wants to camp too! We're up for a meet but 10th Sept is no good for us, most other days are good though! |
that is the place, any day is fine for us. |
Beginning of Sept is fine with me, I prefer saturdays |
Yes we can do Saturday too How about the 3rd???? |
3rd September sounds ok to me xx |
i am up for the 3rd september, its the day i get back from hols but what the hell, may have a scraggy sheepdog with me as were going to the seaside, but hey its a water park, within minutes of seeing water he will be in it anyway!!! what time to we meet?? about 12-1?? is it ok to invite other sheepies?? |
Hi Ya!!! Saturday and sunday at the waterpark are really busy! Don't mean to put you off! But its not as quite as in the week like we did the last few times when the dogs had the run of the park! People go weekends with kids and have picnics and camper van are on the grass, so there's not much space! I know its a large park but it does get really busy! |
well I am ok any day, so have you got any other ideas in the week? we shall sort something out! x |
I am ok with with but if we make it a weekday can it be the week after because i am away the week before? |
Come on people clocks ticking! Its going to be winter at this rate Weekday or weekend?? But if a weekend not the bank holiday please |
going to give up on this soon... how about october, its a bit cooler which is good for the dogs travelling. i really want to meet you all come on help sort it out!!! |
hi I am easy. the only thing that will stop us is Summer being in season or being away first week in October. I know Cassie is poorly at the moment and I just realised you are only talking about a week away. where are Kimmy and Karen? |
Ive been trying to sort this out since june! Cassie if you read this hope your feeling better xxxx Come on then october??? I cant do the 9th as am at a grooming competition will Billy and the week before would turn into a nightmare as he loves swimming. Soooo.. how about sunday 16th october. At the water park. Kids are at school weather not so sunny Bring a sheepie friend or two! Am setting the date and place now we just need lots of furry friends If your all in agreeance with date then ill put a post on face book (am pamperedpooch08@aol.com , well billy Is but his got hundreds of sheepie friends) Can you all get back to confirm the date. I want to meet you all xx Ill email lim (old english) and anyone i see on the forum from the uk once we conform the date x if you can all do the same |
Sunday 16th is fine by us, as long as Summer isnt in season. I really dont want a house full of puppies! |
Yes we will be there too |
Summer is in season now bless her, so is the yorkie! |
Sue does that mean you will be coming then? We need more people! |
Hello, I am free that day, the only thing that might prevent me from coming would be my health, especially as its a 3 hour drive each way. But its on my calendar & I will try my best to come! Would be lovely to make new friends and catch up with old ones Xxx |
yes i have it on my calendar. Wont bring the yorkie though son can have her for the day, she will just threaten all the sheepies. |
Lol i understand the little dog syndrome, i have a pomeraniam, she attacks everything from german shephard to newfoundland....sooo embarrasing xx |
I would love to do this not 100% yet but defo going see if i can or not. My Dillon is just over a year old is he ok to come??? Hes really hard at grooming at the minit too so would be soo good to talk face to face and get some tips from other oesd owners |
Course his old enough to come! Hope you can make it too Ill put more details up soon |
SlaveToTheBrush wrote: Course his old enough to come! Hope you can make it too Ill put more details up soon It would be super stressfull for me. id be scared how he would get on with other oesd ect ect. |
Gary, its gonna be stressful for me too, billy can be a sod at times, never nasty. Can bark alot, chase leaves, dust, pollen anything! even when walking on a lead out if the blue he will just jump. His also a big water lover and i get no sense out of him. See its not just you, am sure your dog will be better behaved than mine! It will be a good fun day! |
Elvis is 15 months and mad as a hatter so we will all be fine |
I am sure they will all be fine, I was really surprised at the last sheepie day, must be 2 years ago now, the sheepies were so well behaved, better behaved than the owners.... Summers coat is a real mess, I have been cutting matts out, but I think that is just a sheepie thing unless you spend ages grooming. We havent got a grooming table so it is a case of getting on the floor with her and my knees are not that good.... |
come on UK folks, just been reading the play dates they do over the pond. They stay in hotels OMG we just need to meet up for a few hours, have a picnic, and play frisbee......(sorry Summer added that last bit!) |
Hey guys, just checking in How about making a facebook event page for this? We can call it oes.org uk sheepie day- everyone welcome- or something? Let me know if you would like me to do it, I'm off work this week so will have time to create the page |
What a good idea! Been trying to do an event but i just dont get time |
Ahh a brill idea! Im close to birmingham let me know whats gong on details etc.. Bloos 6 months-7 months in october, he loves playing with others of his kind. Trouble is he can be quite nippy, but we met an oes other day and they were knocking each other aout. Are you meeting somewhere dog friendly as bloo isnt 100% recall yet, when hes with other dogs its very hard to get him back Sounds fun!! Let me know before day comes!!!!! |
