I'm into old hot rods. I used to own a great 1934 Ford coupe that was far more loud and obnoxious than myself. I sold it in August of 2009 when my wife lost her job. I felt it was more important to have a lot of cash in the bank than a seasonal car in the garage. Lucky for me, I had done all the work myself, so when I sold it, I made a killer profit. I'm now working on a 1966 Chevy Biscayne. It too will be fast, but waaaaay more comfy. Photos of both cars can be seen here; http://www.violentlee.com/projects.html And here is a video of me increasing my carbon footprint... Turn up the volume and listen for my son having way too much fun! So, what do you find time to do that isn't totally about the sheepies in your life? Vance |
|
Nice Vance. Looks like you were running a small block Chevy with dual 4s, correct? I bet the Biscayne comes out awesome. I think most folks on the board know I'm a car guy. I'm looking for a house right now with some land so I can put up a separate garage for my cars. |
There are non-OES activities????? Who knew? kristine |
^^^^^^ Love your Hot rods. My other activity besides being a slave to OES, is off road Motor Cycle riding. Love that away in the bush on the farm and on mountain tracks and being a hoon at that time. Keeps me young Being female I have a HOT Pink off road MC and love it and hooning around the alps in Victoria fancy free and forever young and stupid. My all chick pink machine I nearly killed my hubby years ago with a bigger bike I could not when stopped reach the ground with my feet so he was on the back and YEP lost controll went under trees and he being taller came off with a branch and I cleared it OK but he nearly lost his head So he brought a smaller less powerfull one for me "Darn It" so I could not do any damage and he did not have to dink on the back of it. I love off track riding. Now on my own due to hubbys refusal to be anywhere near me on the tracks, cant blame him though |
I don't want David anywhere NEAR this thread on the forum. You sheepie people are a bad influence. First he wanted a farm like Chewie's. Now he wants a Lotus like Oakley and Sydney have, and motorcycles like Gigi and Bogey. |
Mad Dog wrote: There are non-OES activities????? Who knew? kristine My thoughts exactly. I want to do more stuff but dh keeps vetoing it. |

But think of how our regular posts must read to non-dog people? Poop, in all it's glorious forms and expressions. Bitches. Aggression. Humping. Dingleberries. The list goes on Kristine |
EATING! Ok we have others -- travelling, working at orphanage in Honduras (really love that), love cars too, and of course the HARLEYS We also have two large scooters. Love riding! |
my pinky sporty before i had t0 sell her and my corvettes before ecomony hit the dump but at least i still have my boys |
WOOHOO! You go ladies! Biker Babes rock Sorry about your Sportster suz! The pink was adorable Quote: We also have two large scooters. Love riding! Oesmom2: I though for a second you were referring to your Harlys as "scooters", and thought...wow, I haven't heard them called that in ages! I grew up in a very "old school" biker family, and "Scooter Tramps" was an old slang term for bikers . |
We've got a good start for a "Harley Ladies of the OES World" calendar! |
Ron, I think you need to add a "Wheels" section to the board. I had no idea so many of our members were into cars, bikes, etc. |
My first hobby .My 1071 mini cooper "s" that i rebuilt myself My 2nd hobby . That's me doing the steering |
My muses... |
^^^Ron, that is ALMOST as cool as Suzi on her bike...almost. |
Ron wrote: We've got a good start for a "Harley Ladies of the OES World" calendar! I really want this!^^^ Ok...what we need is photos of the bikes, the babes (guys included ), and at least one sheepie! Come on, folks, let's go on this!!! |

It also had a 5-speed which got me up to 18mph on the hwy. The Biscayne will be taken a bit further. I'm going with a 632cu.in. BBC and another 5-speed. Real hot rods have clutches That's enough Greek of one night. Vance |
Mark and Vance. Check out what is happening in cocoa beach this weekend at. Hotrodcocoabeach.com Lisa. Love love love the photos with sheepie pup on the bike! We have been trying to get a photo with either sheepie on or near a Harley oe a scooter. Not an easy task. Also LOVE the Minis! Wow the mini with sheepies! Wish Suzy still had the bike we could ride together. Her bike was beautiful! Biker babes of the OES forum. Ooh how funny! Ron I would love to have a toy like yours! Someday... We have a diverse group. That makes for interesting conversations. |

Also: gardening can really provide an excellent creative outlet--not to mention give our guys a way to expend some of that pent up energy that builds up during the work week! Think: Trellises! Arbors! A water feature! |

Think: Trellises! Arbors! A water feature! Oh, my god, I do have an interest outside of OES - gardening! Totally forgot. Just got my veggie garden in - finally! Then again, Dazz helped me do it. I'd throw weeds into a big container, she'd drop her ball into the container, I'd take the ball out of the container, throw it and try to get some weeding done while she was chasing it Cars, not so much, except as they function as sheepdog-mobiles. Though that mini Lisa posted a picture of is pretty darn adorable. Can't figure out how to fit the actual dogs in it though... Kristine |

I crochet, am learning to play the piano, and dabble in lots of other stuff. I love classic cars, but don't know much about them. Sam, is my Roadrunner, and we're working on him slowly, but we've a long way to go. Last year about all we got done was putting on my personalized license plate...fingers crossed for this year. |
Tracie, The Roadrunner looks pretty decent from the pic. '73? Is it an original, numbers matching Roadrunner? Which engine/trans combo? Hoping it's the 440/727 TorqueFlite combo but the 400/4-spd would be awesome, too. Will you be painting it like Daisy Duke's Roadrunner? |
It's a 74, with a different engine (hence the reason I could actually afford to buy it). It's a 440 now, and an automatic. To be honest, I don't actually know what all the other numbers mean yet. I'm still learning. I plan to keep the original yellow, but since it's not a numbers matching kind of thing, I am hoping to do a clear coat with silver sparkles on top. Getting it painted will be a winter project most likely, but I am hoping it will be on the road this summer. It "passed" the safety already this fall. |
I don't have a picture on here, but Todd is hoping his car will be done this summer.....long story, friend of a friend is taking forever w/ what should have been an easy restore . Anyway, it's a 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 2 door - quite cute! It will be in it's original red and white color. The parts car is the black one in our pasture - in the background of all the sheep pictures!! Can't believe all these car people haven't commented yet |
Dawn, I've seen the old Galaxy sitting out in many of your pictures but didn't comment on it because 1) I didn't want to hijack the thread and 2) I wasn't sure how many car people there were on this board (I've found non-car people are bored to tears when someone talks about cars). |
