Eating

My Winston suddenly isn't interested in eating much. Usually he would gobble his food right down. I even got a bowl for slowing him down. That was about a year ago. Over the past week or so, he doesn't get up to eat when I put the bowl down and when he does he only eats a little bit and then may nibble. He didn't even finish it last night. He went to the vet about a week ago and got a clean bill of health. I have to be sure my other dog, Ginger, doesn't finish it off for him now. Any thoughts? He still seems as energetic as usual when playing with Ginger and such, but just the eating thing. I feed him Purina Pro Plan, lamb and rice, per advice from Madeline's advice (that's what she feeds her OES's.) He's been on this for a year or more. I wonder if he's bored with it, but it was just so sudden that it doesn't seem like that's the issue.

BTW, he turned 2 in March and is 84 lbs. : )

Thanks for any comments.

It could be a lot of things... he might just be hot, or having an off day here and there, or there may be something going on. If he seems otherwise ok I've found that dogs will do that if you get a bag of food that has gone bad. You may not see anything different or smell anything wrong with the food but they can sense something "off" about it long before we can.
I never thought about the food possibly having gone bad. We're due for more, so I think I'll do that sooner than I had planned to see if there's a change. Thanks.
FWIW my dogs always slow down suddenly with the eating when we get
our first heat wave. It could be just the weather too. Even though my
dogs are spoiled rotten and never have to be out in the heat it still
effects their appetites.

Maybe I'm just a worrywart, but I always get concerned when Oscar starts or stops doing something he never/always used to do.

I am assuming that all else is normal with his digestion, like no vomiting, diarrhea, excess gas, etc. Is Winston pooping normally, panting more than usual, anything like that?

Like others have said, it's probably nothing. If this were Oscar though, I would pay very close attention to see if anything else is off.

When my golden did this, he had pancreatitis. I'm not saying this to worry you but I would get it checked.
