What to do what to do...... Is there a 12 step program? A support group? Oh wait, this is a support group. Any one else out there addicted? I'm afraid my honey is going to start thinking I'm having an online affair. I'm in here on the computer a zillion times a day!!!!! |
|
Sorry I can't help you, I must rush off to the pictures |
1. Tell yourself that you have a forum problem, you'll never heal if you don't admit you have a problem. 2. Try looking at other sites, beware of other forums, otherwise you will have added to the problem and two sites you are adicted to. 3. Try to limit yourself on the computer. 4. Stab your leg with a ruler every time you re-check pictures you have looked at for the 5th time. 5. Put a rubber band around your wrist and snap it each and everytime you read a thread that has had no more entries but you keep reading it through anyway. 6. Snap the rubber band everytime you think of the forum at night when you should be sleeping. 7. Snap the rubber band everytime you think about the forum when you are at work. 8. Snap the rubber band everytime you think about the forum when you aren't near a computer. 9. If your hand falls off because of the rubber band - you have gone too far. 10. Disconnect the internet. 11. Lock yourself in a closet for about a month. 12. Craddle yourself for hours on end, drooling and convulsing until the OES forum is outta your system. |
very cute |
/Forumpusher on
Addictive? That such an ugly word. Besides, the forum is fine, and will make you feel gooOOOOOOooood. There's nothing bad about feeling good, is there? What harm can a little forum do? just try it, and see how you like it! You don't have to have more, but if you like it, you can always get more right here..... for a small fee.... MUhahahahaha! /Forumpusher off Please just go to bed now and get up fresh and ready to come back and post some more! |
I think Ron is secretly evil... |
HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please note it is 9:45, I have managed to stay off the computer for one whole hour!!!!! Next time I'll try for an hour and 10 min............... Cute Integra..... maybe you should become an OES addiction counselor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ron, can you really sleep at night being responsible for such widespread addiciton |
There is no cure !!!!
(Thanks Ron !!! ) |
i know how you feel what with the time delay aswell i come on sometimes and theres only me ,so have to spend rest of the day keep checking for new posts |
Hi My Name is Elissa, and I am an OES forum addict too.
lol |
I was on a business trip last week and on the way home from the airport last night I told my husband "I haven't been able to check the forum for three days! It's going to take hours for me to catch up with all the Sheepies!" Looks like I'm an addict too |
Tasker's Mom wrote: Cute Integra..... maybe you should become an OES addiction counselor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great idea! Integra can use the consult fees toward getting another sheepie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
This thread is hilarious, and ooohhh so true!
Ron aka pusher....lol...... maybe there should be a disclaimer.... I have spent more time at my computer since I found the forum than I have ever... I think it is almost physically attached at this point. *usb port in my forehead* It's ok though, we can all be addicts together.... lol... |
My boyfriend knows exactly what I'm doing if he can't find me. The funny thing is, all he used to do is sit and read his message boards and I gave him the hardest time about it. Now I'm worse. yesterday we were leaving to go out and I was like, hold on, I just have a couple more threads to read! |
You know you are hooked when your sheepies are begging for dinner and you say, "Hold one, just one more forum............" and that was an hour ago.
Speaking of which..........time to feed the sheepies. For real. |
HAHAHAHAHA I'm rolling on the floor Sheepie Bossss.............I'm sitting here on the computer with a whining sheepie at my feet say "hang on Tasker, it'll be just a minute" OK time to feed the poor boy. |
zahra wrote: Tasker's Mom wrote: Cute Integra..... maybe you should become an OES addiction counselor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great idea! Looks like you will have a steady practice, lots of sheepie addicts!!
This could work out, if you like this type of work, then consult fees could go toward college! ( like veterinary school perhaps??) |
Hi. My name is Karen, and I'm an OES.org addict.... Please help me....
NO NO- I DIDN'T MEAN THAT!!! JUST FIVE MORE MINUTES, FIVE MORE MINUTES!!! AAAAHHHHHH |
Yes...I have to admit I too am addicted to the forum. It is in my "favorites" and it is a regular scan several times a day. My favorite is the pictures. My family loves to see them. I will say "Look...our sheepie is not the only one that sleeps upside down and twisted! " Sometimes I will read things to family like "See...sheepies have weak hips...Do not push on her hips when you play". It has all kinds of great advice as well. Now...if I can just get myself to go downstairs and work on that mountain of laundry that is piling up. |
I deny my addiction Just because I haven't done laundry in a month,
gotten my mail or have any food in the house...... |
Just because I didn't buy groceries this week to pay for my internet connection doesn't mean I'm addicted!!!!!! |
Tasker's Mom wrote: Just because I didn't buy groceries this week to pay for my internet connection doesn't mean I'm addicted!!!!!! Being so addicted to an online service that you don't pay for your internet bill is a self-limiting addiction! |
zahra wrote: consult fees could go toward college! ( like veterinary school perhaps??)
That would be soooooo cool! What I would really like to do is work with pet nutrition... that would be a blast for me. I am such a label reader! I spend hours talking to Brad about the contents of certain foods and things that I have learned about why they are good or why they are bad. So much fun! |
Not to mention if you guys put me through vet school with your addictions I could be this forum's official vet.
I thought that it might be kind of nice to go through vet school though... but it will take me a while to get everything I need. |
But what if you are taking the grocery money to pay for the internet?? I think THAT is definately a problem HEHEHEHEHEH
AND YOU SIR ARE THE PUSHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Eat? Who has time for that? I'm getting so bad I post recipes |
Well, here is a question................How many of us are sneaking a peak at the forum while at work?? |
All day, every day My employees think I'm insane, everytime I hear "you've got mail" I at least have to check the topic. |
Checking at work right now |
Integra Hellsing wrote: Not to mention if you guys put me through vet school with your addictions I could be this forum's official vet.

I was thinking about taking Bio in the fall to start on my journey - I keep thinking about it - but I keep wondering if I would really be able to do it and get into a program.
I'm thinking about taking a break from school though - then saving up some money for me to go later on. |
Well Integra, study hard and come to Cornell Vet School. I'm about a mile away from the VET college and you'll have one OES buddy around!!! My honey works at Cornell, he could show you around Of course, I think the tuition is about 30K a year now |
What are you majoring in now? (ps vet school is very competitive- my sis was thinking about it, but decided not to)
Karen |
By the way Integra, I was going to ask you; where in SC are you? My ENTIRE family is in SC. I grew up on Edisto Island near Charleston. |
Usually I catch-up on the forum from work. Once I get home, most times I don't get a chance to check back in until almost bedtime. By then I'm fighting with myself - am I tired enough to just wait until tomorrow and check again from work, or do I just HAVE to see what's new before I close my eyes? Geesh! Such decisions!
Now that the daylight is staying around longer and the weather is getting warmer (sometimes, at least!), it's hard to stay inside when you have a sheepie staring you down with the deer-in-the-headlight look that says, "Mom, can we PLEASE go outside? Please, huh, please, huh, PLEASE???" and the little tail stub turning in circles like a propeller! Can never say no to those eyes! Chris |
Iriskmj wrote: What are you majoring in now? (ps vet school is very competitive- my sis was thinking about it, but decided not to)
That's the biggest thing - it's tough to get in - and since I've been going to a crummy college and didn't know what I wanted to do at first... it's really difficult for me to figure out if I can go or not. I've been studying Art History... I know... it's terrible. I love art history too - so if I cannot get into vet school - I think I would be equally as happy to go into school for art history so I could teach it. I have an assosiates in science, and this fall I should be getting my bachelors in Liberal Arts with a minor in Art History. |
Tasker's Mom wrote: By the way Integra, I was going to ask you; where in SC are you? My ENTIRE family is in SC. I grew up on Edisto Island near Charleston.
I live in Beaufort, if you don't know where that is - Hilton Head is very close by. God... I would be soooooo happy if I could live in Charleston! |
OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have an Uncle on Beaufort!!! You know where Edisto is then!!!!!! I was offerred a job at the Hospital in Beaufort some years ago but turned it down (I'm a nurse). I love Charleston!!!!! My Dad would love for me to come live with him (he's 83) but to tell you the truth I've been gone from the South long enough that the heat really bothers me.
You are LUCKY!!! Beaufort is just beautiful, my uncle lives on Ladies Island. Are you going to the USC extention on Beaufort? My son graduated from USC! HEHEHE it's a small world! |

Yes I am going to USCB. I used to live on Lady's Island (about a month ago) then we moved to St. Helena Island. I really miss living on Lady's Island... it was much nicer there than where we are living now. St. Helena has horrible roads and the people around here don't know what the speed limit is... *sigh* I'm constantly grinding my teeth when I'm forced to drive 35 when the speed limit is 55. Beaufort is very pretty - but it's not really for younger people and not many job oportunities. There are jobs - but nothing I like around here. I think I would be alright moving somewhere else - then comming back later when I'm older. I have to agree though - it is very humid - and I would like a change. |
Integra, USC is a great school!!!! You should be able to transfer anywhere from there if you decide to do graduate school. I'll be interested to hear how you make out with MOMO this summer there. I am usually at Edisto 2 weeks every summer and just before I go Tasker gets shved down practically to the skin because of the heat. But you are right there are not a lot of young people there. You have great summer job opportunities though . My son worked at the country club one summer and made a ton of money. |

Thank goodness, I was worried for a while what others thought of USC. I'm wondering about having to shave Momo too - but I met an older man who said he had quite a few of them the other day. We met him in Port Royal at the park. He said that he could keep the coats - but he had to walk them in the morning and at night (pretty much what I'm doing). It was lots of fun talking to him about OES. I'm so surprised that there are so many people down here who have them. |
Integra- You might want to look under the medical section at the post about Summer Heat and Bob tail coats........ The full coat realy is very warm for them in the heat of SC.
I CERTAINLY HOPE USC IS A GOOD SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!! I paid them about 50,000 for my son's education But seriously it is a very good school, my Father and my Grandfather were USC grads. When do you graduate? |

Don't worry, since it's so hot around here I wanted to pay special attention to the warnings and read that thread. What I do: I put on a sweater before I take her out to go to the potty. If it is too hot for me - then it is too hot for her and we won't play outside. We go back in the house and play. If it gets too hot outside during the night and morning to take her for a walk later on - I'll probably shave her. Oh yes! And I graduate next fall. |
GREAT!! |
Check the forum from work?
NO! Who would ever do that? |
Certainly not you, Mandy |
I have maintained ever since I discovered the forum that it is addictive. Since my computer crashed at home I can only check at work. If the boss isn't here it stays minimized on my desktop. If he IS here, well, I just have to check every ten minutes or so to see what's going on.
I have found so much useful information here. I like to use it to my advantage when it comes to my hubby. He is convinced that the best way to make Monster lay or sit is to push down on his back side. Thanks to the forum, I now have proof that is a no no. Of course, Mom (me) has no problem getting him to sit or lay, as I am the main one that has been involved with training. |
I have a million things to do today, catching up on housework, and brushing Sky out completely, then bathing, blow drying and brushing again, we have training tonight, and tomorrow is the Sanction match, then it's show time!
And yet..... here I am |
I LOVE THIS PLACE!
There I admitted it!!! |
I'm supposed to be studying for a test I have tomorrow... and yet here I am. |
INTEGRA......
GO STUDY!! (the voice of a mother) |
Lol. I'm at work with so much stuff to do I canelled meetings. I skipped lunch to study for a final and I haven't opened the book. But here I am... |
Yeap! I'm New & I'm Hooked!!! This is such a great place to be!!! |
I guess I've joined the club of addition too.
I work out of my house so there is no one to look over my shoulder or tell me to stop. Thank goodness! I don't think I would be very nice if they did, which just goes to show you why I work for myself. LOL |
Ron's evil message was hilarious!!!! I have been busy with scholl so that explains why i am writing on the 28th. I have missed it, i am supposed to be doing my FAFSA for school, but i have missed out on so many threads
