I had bamboo flooring installed at one of my Rochester homes few years ago and they got scuffed easily... We used Morningstar (I think - the same name as the Veggie burgers If you want go green you should check out the flooring by Eternity -same concept as bamboo and oh my gosh - they're amazing! no scuffs and actually looks like real wood. They'll even let you try sawing it with a saw and you wont see a mark. http://www.eternityflooring.com/ I noticed they carry bamboo as well - im sure they're scratch resistant compared to the Morning Star. |
We just put some in our master and so far so good (but it's only been about a month). This is what we have (I think!) http://www.lumberliquidators.com/catalo ... goryId=503 |
I inquired about bamboo when we moved into our new house, and our contractor said they scuff easily as well, and with the dogs said we wouldn't be happy with it. |
That's interesting. We were told at the floor place that they were one of the hardest woods and wouldn't scuff easily. DH actually did a 'scratch test' using several different samples of wood and the bamboo easily was the best (from the ones we were considering). I guess we'll find out soon enough, though. |

See, that's what I had heard too, which is why i was considering it. |
