Is there a sunscreen that I can use on her? I did put a little neutrogena just above the nose since it was so sunny and I was so worried that she would get burned. What do others do for their pups during the summer to prevent burning? Thanks! |

We live in a sunburnt country over summer and yes you do have to protect those pinky areas during the warmer months. Go to the drug store and get a sunscreen that is recommended for human toddlers/babies. It's non toxic if they decide to lick it and will protect those parts exposed to the sun over the warmer months. |
We use baby sunscreen for Abby's very pink muzzle. We found that the spray-on kind intended for infant's scalps is easiest to apply |
Thank you! I knew there was a solution! I was just afraid to put anything on her without asking first. I would hate for her to have a bad reaction to sunscreen. I will buy some baby stuff since we plan on being on our boat and camping a lot this summer. |
Do use it. I noticed MO had developed a raised crusty on her nose. I fear it may be due to sun exposure over the years. We've tried to keep sunscreen there or leave hair long in the area, but weren't always successful. Splash and Olivia were horrible for sunburned noses........it was a constant battle. zinc oxide worked best for me. |
One other easy thing to do - move the part in the hair around for the topknot, and the part in the hair down the bridge of the nose. It does help - one spot doesn't get all the sun exposure that way. |
