This time I thought I would get it over with NOW. Give fair warning. Garfunkel is a wild man. He will chase anything that moves, if you happen to be in his way...he kinda goes over the top of you AFTER he knocks you down. In true herding mode he will nip at the back end of the moving object If your dog is standing still, to prove how rough and tuff he is, he will mount your dog He will be in the center of any trouble that happens. I try to ride herd on this dog and hope to keep trouble to a minimum, he will be muzzled if the situation warrants it(and it warrants it a lot). He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, he's just rude and "exuberant". So I apologize now for my rude dog. |

oh PAM!!!! Isn't that what a sheepie is????? Joyful, playful, inquisitive, rambunctious, an instigator??? I can't wait to watch him, handle the herd!!!! What fun he will have!!!!! AND..................IF you are apologizing for Garfunkle... then I MUST apologize for Heart , because she will Surely, SHURTLE~~~~Any sheepie that gets in her space!!!!! |
Well, the nice thing about Gar is that he gives fair warning. When he walked into my house (having spent the formative years of his life mainly in a garage which is why his tearful owner gave him up, he wanted better for him) when I first fostered him, as I've told Pam several times, my girls - who are used to dogs coming in and out and never take issue - took one look at him and ran for their lives. Poor Gar hadn't even DONE anything. They just sized him up and instantly and as one ran into my bedroom, posted a guard, and refused to come out Only my brainless mama's boy dog remained and he was mighty offended when Gar said hello by mounting him The boy can't help it. He really can't. He just never really learned proper canine social skills. There isn't a mean bone in his admittedly extremely high prey drive body, but remember when your mom used to get upset with your lack of social graces and yell: "Hey! Don't ...[fill in the blank]!! Were you raised in a BARN?" He sort of was. I wouldn't worry about it. Dog savvy dogs will take one look at him and instantly have his number, whilst the rowdies will think he's just great fun. I Wish Georgie could come and play with him she would have a blast! She LOVES all dogs no matter what!!!! I bet he will be just fine and he is lucky to have you as his Momma!!! |
Sounds just like our Bentley. Except Bentley will attack anyone Jen is petting. Jen is Bentley's human and that's all there is too it. He doesn't like to share Jen. Have fun Gar and be yourself!!! And have someone video it for future reference Vance |
I love him.. sorry I'm not going to get to meet him. |
I can't wait to meet him! No apologies needed for me, I love him already. Definitely has a sense of who he is I've been so worried that Charm, the sweet puppy~who has few manners~but loses all sense around other dogs, would be the terror of the weekend. I don't mean that for all her puppy cuteness she couldn't get away with it, but geesh... Looking forward to meeting the outgoing Garfunkel!! Great name too..!!! |
No worries. He'll meet his match when he meets Brick. |
It is Sheepiepalooza ....... SHEEP happens. Seriously, we have plenty of mounters and mountees here locally I am sure we have seen it all before. |
Mmmmmm..... "mounters and mountees". What kind of gathering is this Sheepiepalloza? |
