| There are a lot of malicious apps on FB that do just that. When you use an app, you give it permission to access your account in different ways. If it's a malicious app, their program will be written to hack your account and then spread their spam or virus. I don't use apps, and I hide all posts by apps on my feed (mouse to the right of the post brings up an X with hiding options). |

| It's always smart to change your password semi-regularly. Don't use the same password for everything and, of course, don't share it with anyone. Most FB hacks can be halted by just changing your password. By that time, the damage can already be done but at least it keeps it from going on. |
| Facebook called me. Their security is amazing. It was a hacker.and they know who it is. There was fake account set up. Then they wrote to me about gigi. This set up phishing. It attacked me and all who commented on gigi. All will be contacted by db. Change your passwords. |
| I'm so glad you posted about this. I had no clue that could happen. Last Monday whenever I posted, it posted twice and it started on your page when I commented on GiGi. Better change my password today but haven't had any problems since. Thanks for the tip. |
| Yes change your password and check to see if any friends were unfriended. I had a bunch removed. also there are security settings you can use to increase your protection. I have learned a lot Matter of fact Facebook called me again. Their security is on top of things. They have provided me with all the posts that were removed and friends removed in addition to the phony Facebook account that was the hacker. I also had them in email. They are pursuing this further so I cannot comment on any specifics. But it is interesting what they know and what they can do All is ok with my account now and anyone who posts or is friends with me. |
