http://chattanooga.craigslist.org/pet/2398257608.html Old English Sheepdog (Ringgold Ga.) Date: 2011-05-23, 3:38PM EDT Reply to: comm-gpdyj-2398257608@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] I have an Old English Sheepdog I am looking for a good home for. My X left the dog I cannot give him the care and attention he requires. He is approx. 1 year to 1.5 years old. He is completely deaf. He does hear loud noises and sometimes he hears the other dogs barking. He is very smart. We where in the process of teaching him sign language when she left him. He is fixed and has current vaccinations. He will only go to a home that he will become part of the family. He is an INSIDE dog. He will not be chained up to a tree or put in a pen in the backyard. I will be very selective as to who I let him go to. I only ask for a $50 rehoming fee. My number is (seven - seven - zero) two - three - five six - eight - one - nine. Or you can contact me via email from this posting. |

Isn't he just the cutest! Hopefully someone here will want to adopt him! Earlier today I sent the advertiser a list of questions they might ask potential adopters along with links they might share with the new family on deaf dogs. Also included OES rescue contact info. Resources- Website: The Deaf Dog Education Action Fund http://www.deafdogs.org Book: "Living With A Deaf Dog" by Susan Cope-Becker Sign Language (but you can use any): ASL University website at http://www.lifeprint.com |

One of the girls who works at The Paw is going to adopt a deaf 5 month old Australian Shepherd. I was going to ask for the links to books and websites again...now I don't need to! I will pass on the info tomorrow to her - thanks! |
This baby's dad said there are a few potential people interested in adopting this boy. And Beantownboy01... he appreciated that you posted the ad here on OES.org. You silly girl, Kathy Yay for the girl getting the deaf baby. A trainer once told me it's just one less distraction during training. |
Let me know if this doesn't go through- I'll mention it to Fiona. Our rescue based out of Atlanta (OES Rescue Network of the Southeast) has a trainer that we work with that can help with deaf dogs! |
Hello We are thrilled to announce we are adopting the deaf OES in Georgia! Bronson/Henry will be home on Wednesday evening! I have been reading information for the last 2 weeks about deaf dogs ~ we are very excited! Photos coming soon! |

Please let me know if you need anything as far as tips on deaf kids, I have two! Laurie "Oscars Mom" is the best though! She just told me Oscar does a 10 min down stay |
^^^^^^^What, Kathy???? Don't they all do a 10 minute down-stay???? I have to say, Oscar is amazing with the down-stay, even when he is out of my sightline. Yesterday, I was moving some things out to the garage, so I put him in a down-stay in the family room. When I came back, he had fallen asleep there. (Oscar will do ANYTHING for his kibble. ANYTHING. He knows he gets a handful of kibble when I release him, so he will wait there until the proverbial cows come home. ) Laurie and Oscar |
Good boy, Oscar!! |
He's my tweetie pie! Laurie and Oscar |
is he home yet? we want pics please |
We are heart broken ~ due to some family issues we were not able to welcome Bronson home. Hopefully in the near future we can find our OES that will be perfect for our family. |
