The growing out looks good - it is just so LONNNGGGG of a process! You are right, he is a bit of a frizz. Chewie has coarse whites too - not silky (silky is an undesirable coat anyway). I usually thin it a bit with my thinning shears. Maybe twice a year. I myself have very thick abundant hair...and I always get more volume than length removed when my hair is trimmed. Also, maybe a bit of length could be trimmed from the ears and chin, but it really is more a case of your personal preference in the end. |
Ok, thinning shears. He is so bulky on the sides of his head. His ears are trimmed almost to the skin. So I'm thinking I thin the hair on the side of his face that will make him look better. Thanks Dawn Lisa Frankie and Mattie |
Frankie's trim looks great! I would actually like to know how you trimmed his face incase i have to do trim lily's this summer. I think you already did a great job, he looks cute. |
if you just want a bit of a tidy up, either with thinning scissors (its hard to make a mistake) or with scissors. first start at the back of the neck, making the hair stand on end with a comb, combing to the front then the back till you get a peak. then trim a circle shape, then move forward an inch and do it again! if you really want to get it rightn then when you have gone front to back then go side to side. just take a little off, you can always take more off then if you want. |
I actually think you did a great job with that trim! Maybe try some conditioner to tame those frizzies...My dogs get frizzy too when they first get home from groomer and its humid! Just like their Mom! |
Frankie looks great!!! He looks so happy with his frizzes!! Unlike uprights |
