Sheepiepalooza Saturday morning hike - anyone interested?

Hey Dawn and I were talking about taking a hike on Saturday morning.

The picnic starts at noon.

There is a great park with a variety of wooded trails about twenty minutes from the hotel. The dogs must be on leash but Dawn and I both are planning on using a waist leash which allows us to be hands free.

From that park it would be about a 45 minute drive out to Purina Farms where the picnic is held.

There are a couple of tough hills on our usual path but if I get a chance I can try to see if I can find a simpler path.

I didn't know if this appealed to anyone whose dogs like to be active.

Who wants to join Chewie and Harry?

I love hiking with my dogs....hope some others are willing to tackle an outdoor adventure w/ Judi and I and our boys

That reminds me, I need to see if my skijor waist band is still in the Element...add that to the list!
I might be interested...and my sister, but Izzie is a bit of a lazy bum :lmt: so we might need to play it by ear.

How soon would people need to commit?
I have a Stage 2 sprained ankle as of yesterday, but if it is healed to the point I can hike, I will gladly participate.

  I love it that Izzie is the lazy one. I am used to hearing that from my friends with bassets....but not OES!
I'd say if you decide the day before it would be fine.

Granted it was a long and warm walk, but one time she decided she was done walking 2 blocks from my parents house. She sat down and patiently waited for one of us to go get the golf cart and pick her up. :lmt:
I'm in...if dh will agree to be left behind. He's not so good on walks.
Mady might be in. Too bad it's on leash, I go hiking through woods all the time with Mady off leash, she's always hovering around me.
I'm surprised more sheepiegirls haven't jumped at the chance to go for a hike with Harry and Chewie
^^^^ tell me about it! Mady gave me a "don't you dare not let me go for a hike with Chewie :hearts: :hearts: and Harry :hearts: :hearts:" look!

I have been without the internet and WITHOUT THE FORUMS for well over a week now. I don't have access at work. David assured me that I wasn't missing anything crucial. Not missing anything crucial???? I nearly missed the chance to walk with these sheepies!
Nah Kim, we wouldn't leave you behind. Glad you are joining us. :clappurple:
Charm has never been hiking, and given that she's one hot wild twirling tangled mess around other dogs and their uprights, I'm a wee (maybe alot) hesitant to join in. I'm afraid she might spoil it for everyone else. And then, Chewie and Harry will think she's just a sissy girl.
Brenda, give it a try. If it doesn't work out you can always go back to the car. I think once she see's that everyone is just out for a walk she will just join in.

And she might learn by being around the bigger dogs, too.
Well, that's all true, thank you. . Perhaps she will act like the little lady :hearts: that I see at home, so we will give it a try also. :crossed: Count us in on the fun!!
Um, and if you like, I can take Charm on the hike. Yeah, that would work perfectly.... :sidestep:
