My female (Dippy) is now 9mths old, her coat is lovely, soft and mat free, I dont think its started changing yet, but when Cappi was 9mths he was matting for a past time and had his first hair cut at 10mths to help with the dematting. I realise all dogs are different, is it possible that she is a late bloomer? How old is old for transitioning coats? |

Some transition through before a year, some are 2 yrs.... |
Mequpak never had mats when he went through that "transition" but I could tell his coat was coming in differently. Was a blessing!! For reference, Yuki had horrible mats. |
Yep, we had a very similar experience - Inca had horrible mats (and ended up totally shaved down at 10 months because of that) - whereas Saxon has never had a single mat (now 13 months) but his coat is definitely changing. Just hope it lasts! |
