(MAGGIE MCGEE IV) ""NITA AND MIDWEST OES RESCUE """ as our beneficiary to any monies collected at the LIVE auction of Sheepiepalooza 2011~~ Because of all your dedication to OES Rescue... Because you have ALWAYS supported Sheepiepalooza... Because you have always been there for us, giving grooming demos, trimming tushes, just being a GREAT friend and mentor!!! Because you have always donated your time and talents to the Nationals and here in St. Louis.. Because you have worked so hard giving 2nd chances to our poor, rehomed, surrendered and abused sheepuppies,,,,, Because you care so deeply for our breed, putting aside all the core feelings of sadness and sorrow when you see these pathetic babies..... BECAUSE , most of all~~~ YOU ARE A WONDERFUL, KIND, CARING, GENEROUS PERSON.... We all love you so much and appreciate all you do!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS AND THREE CHEERS TO NITA AND MIDWEST OES RESCUE!!!! |

OMG, you guys! You don't know how much Nancy and I and all our volunteers, friends and supporters really appreciate this! I'm totally humbled by your kind remarks, too. We do OES Rescue because we love the breed. In the past year we've had some very expensive medical bills. One case of bloat in Minnesota on Thanksgiving night and Laverne was SAVED! Her vet bill totally around $3,500. Two heartworm positive cases in Indiana and Kentucky were over $500 each. Treatment of tick-borne diseases such as erlichia and anaplasmosis.... There are always the routine spays and neuters and required vaccinations, treating ear infections and whatever else could possibly afflict a dog, chances are we've already seen it and had to treat for it. Rescues could not operate without help from supporters like you. What we ask in adoption donations rarely, if ever, cover the cost of vetting a dog. Earlier this year Midwest Old English Sheepdog Rescue, Inc. became a bona-fide 501(c)3 charitable organization. We're very proud of the effort that went into obtaining this status. Now any donations to our organization are tax-deductible to our contributors! We at Midwest OES Rescue can't thank the St. Louis OES Club enough for their continued generosity. To everyone: Please bring all the auction goodies you can carry to St. Louis. Bid early and bid often! We you guys! Nita & Nancy Midwest OES Rescue, Inc. http://www.midwestoesrescue.com/ |

I have starting gathering things for our Ottawa basket. And I went to the bank and took out some of your funny looking American money (it looks like Monopoly money to me) so that I could beat out Dawn for the ear flap hat. Fun spending money when it goes to a wonderful cause. Oh, and keep your fingers crossed that the Canadian dollar is strong over the next few weeks! |
Cindy and Allison...I know both of you are VERY busy!!! But, if you DO get time and want to send something for the live auction, email me and I will send you my address. Kim..I will have all paws and fingers for a strong Canandian Dollar... Dawn (and Kim)...Can't wait to see your baskets!!!! AND...FYI....We have some really interesting and odd Sheepiethemed items too!!! So be prepared to>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> BID BID BID!!!!!!!! |
Great choice!!! Can't wait for the auction! |

Would anyone be interested in yarn....? Yarn I had spun from Chewie's hair and our own sheep's wool?? I am thinking of adding some of it to my basket I am making for the auction. I had some spun, and I just got the box back in the mail...I am so excited to do stuff w/ it!! |

Hat's done! Sorry to say, it has no ear flaps. I just can't find my pattern. So I'm going to try and make it up to you all by adding a scarf to match. And then, hopefully get it all into Fedex this afternoon! |
Wish there was a way for those of us who are not attending to bid. |
okay- all done! Nothing like waiting until the very last minute! I'm off to Fedex.... Here's Tonks modeling the hat and scarf I made. Tonks wants to know why there's no summer-weight OES fabric. GOOD QUESTION! |
poolmom wrote: Wish there was a way for those of us who are not attending to bid. Don't worry! We'll have an ebay auction this coming fall for OES rescue in the south east- you can bid from home on those items. though it does make me think- anyone willing to take and uplaod photos of the auction swag? Maybe some of us could beg other members to bid for us? |
OK...Allison!!!! How cute is that???? THANK YOU for working so hard to finish... I really hope it gets here by Saturday..and IF NOT??? Then what we can do is auction by proxy~~~ When I get it, I will send it off to the highest bidder!!! THANK YOU AGAIN!! You are remarkable!!! And we will miss you, Adam Tonks and Luna...sooo sooo soo much!!!! |
I wish so much we were coming! Hopefully next Sheepie Palooza!!!! |
Allison--that is way too cute! Maybe the sheepie should come with!! We will miss you all this year! |
I have donated a clock for auction. It is the one without the rose, but I wasn't able to upload that photo. It is very similar to this one however. I hope it gets some bidding going to make some $$$ for rescue. |
yea!!!! Wendy and Allison...we also have donations from Marilyn (CHSheepdogs) and Cindy (4dognight) THANK YOU EVERYONE~~~~~~ BECAUSE OF YOUR KINDNESS AND GENEROSITY, OUR AUCTION WILL BE A HUGE SUCCESS!!!! |
Wendy- love the clock! sheepiezone wrote: Allison--that is way too cute! Maybe the sheepie should come with!! We will miss you all this year! trust me- you don't want Tonks. That photo is the only time she sat still today. |
David would not let me hold the sheepie paddle during the auction. He is a terrible bidder. We did get Dawn's goodie basket and I am pleased about that, but there were so many other things I wanted. Next time I get my own paddle. |
