So, Aska finally got shaved, after lots and lots of thinking I called the groomers and got time and date, but that time and date I was going to be in Florida on my vacation (i'm home now) ... so I trusted my sister to take her I told Katrin (my sister) to let the leave the feet and tail and little bit on the head, OF COURSE she forgot ! And just told the groomers to shave her all the way down It just that it takes like FOREVER to grow back ! But she's so happy so I'm kinda happy that Katrin said that But I'm now getting used to her and she feels GREAT, it's like she's a different dog ! Everyone is always asking if we got a new dog And the relief is there's NO GROOMING Well, I kinda miss grooming, I just bath her now The house is also cleaner ! no mud and grass wich my mom is sooo happy about BEFORE AND my beautiful girl now with her FAV teddy ! she always carries him around |

She looks great and it will start growing back pretty quickly. Love her teddy bear, wish Butchy would treat his stuffed friends that well. |
so glad for the update- she does look very happy in her shorter coat! And I agree- its so hard to wiat for them to grow back in, especially the hair around thier eyes. I swear it takes froever to get that part long enough for the top knot! |
wow i think she looks great!! i know she feels better |
She's adorable! Did you shave her yourself? |
She's a cutie no matter the coat length. |
She looks cute both ways - I love the pictures! The 1st one of her shaved just made me laugh |
Thanks everyone for your reply Ur so right Allison ! Last time I was always trying to put ''nothing" in a topknot Jennie - No I took her to my groomer I could never do it my self, Im so scared of cutting her skin Dawn -hehe, she's playing dead in the first shaved photo I think |
I had thought I would do Tonks and Luna myself this year, but I realized that I only shave them once a year, and its not often enough to get proficient at it. So I figured I'd make my dogs look awful once a year, and then they'd grow out uneven and never quite look "good". So I agree with Marin- if you don't do it more than once a year, get a professional to shave them properly!!! |
Quote: I could never do it my self, Im so scared of cutting her skin Not with a clipper. I just dug out the fur balls in Jack's paws today with a clipper. That's some pretty intense digging and nothing went wrong. he wasn't wild about it, but we got thru it. Clipper blades are recessed back in......depending on the blade and if you use a snap on comb over. Yes, scissor time is scary but either put your fingers between doggie and blade or a comb. Shelling out for the clipper and blades will pay for itself quickly. Don't forget the blade cool and cleaner, prolongs the blades. |
she will be fuzzy cute before ya know it but she is still a cute shaved sheepie I clipped my two down they look like demented muppets!!! |
Wow nice! I have been slowly chipping away at Laika and still haven't touched the head or feet/legs. But I think I will go for it so she is done even and from fresh. Thanks you gave me incentive to do it! |
We shaved Khloe down that short 4 months ago and she is nice and fluffy again. It is such a relief to start from scratch with their coat and gave a tiny break from grooming. Although I suggest running a comb or soft brush over her every once in a while to keep the habit going for Aska whether she needs it or not. |
