Celtic (kel-tic) is approximately 6 years old. He’s an owner turn in that has had a rough time finding his permanent home. He was dropped off at a local shelter several years ago where his current owner found him. He charmed her immediately and they spent the next three years together. Sadly, the economic times caused the family to lose their home and move back to the parents with the hope of only an apartment in their future.

Celtic should wear a t-shirt that says “pet the dog first but beware of tongue”. He’s a great boy that loves men, women, children, other dogs, and cats not so much. For Celtic it’s all about being with his people. He’s extremely exuberant when new folks or dogs enter the room and the energy changes. The former owner said he had an issue with jumping up when greeting but we haven’t seen it. Formally an only dog, the owner said he had little interaction with other dogs. He has integrated well with the foster pack and has had several successful trips to the dog park.

He is a sturdy boy at about 80 lbs. which seems to be close to a good weight for him. He love his runs at the dog park and is fairly good on the leash when walking. He is an experienced hiker and has his own backpack which he gladly uses to carry water for his people. He responds well when told to sit, lay down, stop, or down. The lucky new owner really needs to be cautious when offering corrections, a harsh word brings a look that will melt your heart. The good part is, you will rarely need to correct this boy.

Celtic wears his heart on his sleeve and shows how much he cares for his people. He needs someone that will be patient, consistent and kind while he settles in. He will be anxious in his new surroundings for a time and he needs someone that is willing to understand while they show him the ropes. He has come leaps and bounds in the short time he has been in his foster home.

Celtic is a true companion and a great copilot in the car. Anyone that invests a little time with this boy will fall in love and receive ten fold in return.

Known bad behavior: kitchen surfaces call to him. “Counter”terrorism has been know to occur. If caught a quick no stops all actions.

What a sad story!! I hope this bright eyed boy finds his forever home quickly!
Celtic will be moving to Colorado on Sunday. We have folks coming for a dog show and he will hitch a ride back to Bette in Co.Springs. So many more opportunities for adoption on that side of the Rockies. I hope someone takes this boy quickly, he needs someone to love. :hearts:
I hope he finds a great home soon too. :hearts:
He looks and sounds like a super nice boy.
He is certainly handsome!!!!
Good Luck Celtic :hearts: :hearts:
I am really going to miss the big boy. He has been sooooo good! The anxiety is fading quickly. I can leave him loose in the house with the rest of the gang and nothing is chewed, torn, messed up, or even slighty rearranged. I really hate that he's leaving and going back into a time of uncertainty.
That's really too bad that he has to go to yet another foster home. Sounds like he has been doing great with you!

We are nursing our cat (Catrick) back from the brink of death. Celtic doesn't like cats, although I think he can be taught to get along. I need to allow Catrick full access to the house and Celtic puts a serious kink in that plan. I've never had to move a foster, even those that didn't like cats before. Sadly this is the exception. I would foster this boy for months if necessary otherwise. He is such a pure heart.

I am so sad over this decision. I hope a wonderful family takes this boy quickly.

You are a rescue angel and sometimes we have to put our own animals first.
Truth be known we should do that more often...
You take care of Cat and I am sure Celtic will always hold a special place in his heart for you :hearts:

I hope Celtic finds a great forever home. So sad that you have to let him go but sometimes it can't be helped.
