I just e-mailed them. Hopefully he has a tattoo/microchip so we can find out who his breeder is. Thanks for posting this Jaci. |
Thanks, Amber Would it be better if next time I sent this privately? |
Let me know if you need help with transporting Amber...I'm just around the corner! |
I sent the link onto a family here in Halifax that is looking to rescue a Sheepie. There seems to be alot poping up in Ontario lately. |
Great team work ladies |

UPDATE: Just spoke with the shelter....Panton is safe as this a no-kill shelter. Panton has no previous chip or tattoo....the shelter has just had him chipped. She stated that he has "issues" but when I asked for details she said "well, he is a sheepdog!" They are recommending that he go to a family with children over 16 years old. I have a friend whose daughter volunteers at this shelter and Laura is going to keep an eye on him for us. |
A lot of people seem to recommend older children. I guess because of size ( they knock young ones over) and the hearding. But my first sheepie was raised with my 5 nephews when they were babies and I never had a problem. Think its more of a parent needs to be aware, not dont have one. Just my thoughts... HAte to see a young child not get the joy and love of a sheepie because someones scared they will get knocked over. |
Thanks for contacting the shelter, Barbara! I hope he'll find a nice family. It's the liability and often unknown, misunderstood or not-fully-disclosed history/background. Then too, some people don't properly train their children to respectfully interact with dogs... or some are too young to understand. |
I seen more than one of those little ankle biters bring down an adult. At least with a sheepie or larger dog you casee AND hear them coming!!!!!! |
i brought home both my babies with an OES She was wonderful with them!! |
UPDATE Panton has found a furever home!!!!! |
That is wonderful news |
Thank you!! |
