| Age of dog? Is she intact and has recently been in season? How long has the lack of hair regrowth persisted? Depending on the answers to the above you may want to have her thyroid checked and there could be some other hormonal or autoimmune explanations. I presume we are talking about an OES?  Kristine |
^^^^^^^What she said!  Oscar has autoimmune issues, as well as hypothyroidism, and his undercoat has disappeared as a result. For some reason, he is full-coated around his neck and on his head/ears, but he's lost the undercoat on the rest of his body. Now we have to be careful about exposure to sunlight, as so much of more of it can reach his skin. Laurie and Oscar |
