Now that is one interesting dog! OES x cocker?? |
Look at that cute head! Short legs......a minature sheepdog x ?? cocker is a good guess. |
I could be WAYYY off base, but the first thing that came to my mind was an OES/pit bull mix. The head is kinda square; short wide muzzle. IDK. |
Oh, I hope not, but I understand what you are seeing. Those things are so common here I could go thru a shelter and nearly every dog was full or part pittie. |

I also had that thought, but ruled it out from the "before" picture. I just don't see a pittie mix getting that much coat. They (purebreds) are smooth coated to the point of being barely coated at all. The pittie mixes I see never have that much coat (and I see quite a few in weight pull). A cocker is square and hairy and short. And, we have a bunch of basset/cocker mixes in our rescue now, from a huge puppy mill bust in another state. They were breeding the 2 as designer dogs and calling them "hush puppies".... And we see some with faces real similar to this guy. Also, some are really coated - and we know that doesn't come from the basset half! |
