Winston would have been 8 last September. I still mourn his loss. My original claim was for $3,200 minus lawyers fees, but since this is a class action suit...I will think I am lucky if I see $500.00. On April 5, 2011, Judge Hillman ruled that the allocation of $250,000 to Purchase Claims was fair, reasonable and adequate and reaffirmed the settlement in its entirety. This decision can be accessed by clicking the appropriate link under the heading "Important Links" on the right. The Claims Administrator is now working diligently to reimburse all claims as promptly as possible. The Claims Administrator will send each claimant a letter advising him or her of determinations made regarding his or her claim. Within approximately 60 days thereafter, each claimant's final settlement amount will be set and a check will be mailed. We are glad this final ruling has been made and hope the Claims Administrator will be able to comply with this idealistic timeframe in the processing and payment of each of your claims. We are prepared to contact everyone once we receive your specific claim amount determination. The Court did not set a specific time table on how long that would take given the 1000s of pending claims, but we expect to receive most everyone’s claim amount by July 2011 (if not sooner) followed by your portion of the proceeds within 60 days or so thereafter from the Claims Administrator. Again, we will let each of you know when we receive your specific allocation and forward the related documents needed by our office to finalize the same. You should not receive any information directly from the Claims Administrator as we are handling all aspects of your claim on your behalf. If you do for some reason, please let us know immediately. |

$25. $50 if you're lucky. Only the lawyers "win" in most class action suits. Lead plaintiff will probably get a couple of thousand. |
$250,000? For 1000's of pending claims? Ridiculous! I am not, by nature, a litigious person, but this does not seem right. Thinking about your lovely Winston...... Laurie and Oscar |
They $250,000 was only for the Pet Food reimbursement part of the lawsuit...that is what the court has been hung up on for a year. |
Best wishes wendy I just cant imagine what you went through loosing your darling to tainted pet food, I truly hope you get a good compo payment even though regardless it is never enough to even begin to compensate at the loss of a beloved fur kid. My heart and prayers go out to you and I truly hope Justice is done even though it will never replace the loss of your baby. It is amazing how long it takes for any action or compo to be resolved, just not right IMO |

Finally! That has taken a very long time...even through July will be soon compared to the rest of this process. |
I know that the settlement can't compensate for the loss of your Winston--but at least something is being done about that terrible situation!! |
