Every Spring and Fall we have a friend who comes from Oregon to work here for a few weeks for those of us who don't have a handy man around the house. He is very familiar with all of my 'furkids' and loves them all. Since he was here last fall--we lost our little Persian Kitty Tucker, and added two new Persian Kitty's to our home--Cooper and TJ. They have settled in nicely and fit just great with the rest of the group! These two are very different than most Persians--they are very much 'people kitties' and want to be where the action is ALL the time--love the sheepies and have become fast friends. One of Cooper's favorite games is to lay on his back and hold Baxter's nose with both paws while Baxter races around the table dragging Cooper on his back. They play this game every day several times. TJ just sits beside Baley and they calmly watch the action. Well on with the story--Jack (the handyman) was getting ready to paint our media room. I was not home-had gone to run some errands. As he worked to prep the room Copper and TJ were right there, watching and 'helping' as he moved the furniture and took off the switch plates etc. He opened the can of paint and poured it in the pan so he could begin to roll, as he turned around to get the roller--COOPER JUMPED RIGHT INTO THE PAN OF PAINT! THEN HE PROCEEDED TO SPLASH AND PLAY HAPPILY... Jack of course was stunned and immediately reached down and grabbed him and ran to the bathroom to try to save the carpet and the floors from paint paw prints- Of course he didn't know where the kitty shampoo was and really didn't have any idea how to bathe a kitty so he just wet a wash cloth and removed as much as he could---ick--while holding a wiggly cat that with every swish of his tail-spread more gray green paint onto his face, clothes, and hair! When I came in the door about 45 minutes later I was met at the door with a ragged looking-sticky-crusty-wet GRAY-GREEN Cooper--looking completely pleased with himself--all that beautiful LONG glorious fur coated with paint! Jack on the other hand had barricaded the door to the room and put up 3 pet gates (that don't keep the kitties out of the room) and was sweating and painting away covered from head to toe with the same gray-green paint! He did really take it all very well after he recovered from the initial shock of it all--said that was a FIRST for him as most kitties don't want anything to do with anything liquid and he never in a million years would have thought that this would happen! The next 3 and a half hours were dedicated to bathing, rebathing, and rebathing again a very annoyed cat--then of course blow drying and brushing that long beautiful coat! Cooper has taken up residence in our bathtub for his naps and sleeps--so that is where he spent the rest of the night--recovering from his ordeal! I was so anxious to get the paint off of him that I did not think to take a picture of him in all is gray green glory but... Here he is after the clean-up! |

He looks annoyed! In a cute way! |
Jack could have grabbed Copper and done a nice texture coat to the walls.......grey green and cat hair. LOL! I completely love this story |
I would have paid real money to see the before picture. He REALLY looks annoyed. But then most cats do. |
Quote: He REALLY looks annoyed. It is the smushed nose of the Persian breed, they usually looked POed.......but this one does have an extra (come close and die) expression. |
That is the funniest story, I love it!!! What a huge personality Mr Cooper has, he just enjoys adventure. Karen, we must see some video or at least a picture of him riding "bareback". Cooper and Baxter will make quite the tag team one day.. I'm still laughing. |

I love Cooper's face, these Persians are real lookers (for cats ) |
Great story and think Jack handled it better than I would. Beautiful cat and he did look quite P.O. |

He does have the 'classic expression' - we call it the KMA$$ look! The interesting thing about Cooper is that his expression truly doesn't match his personality--he is the friendliest Persian I have owned--LOVES EVERYONE! I call him my 'doggie-kitty' because he truly is more doglike than cat! auntybren wrote: That is the funniest story, I love it!!! What a huge personality Mr Cooper has, he just enjoys adventure.
