Hi Kari........ I kinda had that problem with Oliver. He would show his teeth and snarl. Since I also didn't want any kind of an incident at the dog park, I just bring my own water and collapsable bowl. They aren't good at sucking water out of a bottle. Ollie likes to play with the other dogs but the water is a different story. Actually, it's the simplest remedy and it works out just fine, for everyone. Nancy |
Thank you!!!! We will give that a try. She also loves the dog park and plays well with others. The water bowl has been our only issue. |
Easy take your own water and bowl for her, then that stops any guarding of a communal bowl. I must be abnormal because I dont like at all any of my dogs drinking from a communal source of water, I think if any dog that has any sort of bug or problems, slurps in a communal bowl and after yours drinks you can pick up anything. Great collapasable bowls that you can get now and also just when you are at the dog park take a screw top plastic bottle of water for her and dont let her near where every other dog has been slopping and drinking from. Mim, I agree....I don't like communal bowls. Chauncey is UTD on all shots and is regularly taken to the Vet, but not all are. We don't have a local dog park but a few local shops will have bowls or buckets. I just prefer to take a collapsable bowl and a bottle of water. |
