Alaska is home to some strange people.....LOL! Porcupine comment was funny! NO ON NAKED SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - No ifs, ands or butts -- in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The City Council has unanimously approved a rewrite of its indecency law. The new ordinance specifically bans men or women from exposing their rear-ends or private parts. The law also forbids female toplessness, except for breast feeding. A local paper (Santa Fe New Mexican) reports some on the council are worried about a repeat of last June's World Naked Bike Ride in Santa Fe. Makes ones mind twirl thinking about sunscreen application....... |

Toddler Legally Drunk After Restaurant Gives Him Margarita in Sippy Cup The boy's blood alcohol level was determined to be .10, over the legal limit for adults. DETROIT, Mich. (KTLA) -- Applebee's is investigating how a 15-month-old boy was served alcohol at one of its Michigan restaurants. The child got a "sippy cup" as part of a kids meal, and his mother, identified as Taylor Dill-Reese, thought it contained apple juice. But after a while, he began talking to the walls, and then put his head down on the table, according to Dill-Reese. Follow NewsChannel 3 on Facebook She says she tasted the drink, and it was a margarita. The boy was rushed to a hospital, where his blood alcohol level was determined to be .10, which is over the legal limit for an adult. Thankfully, the boy is okay. Police said it was an accident; a mislabeled bottle at the bar was poured into a cup for the child. Applebee's has apologized, calling the incident "unacceptable." This isn't the first time Applebee's has mistakenly served alcohol to a child. In 2006, a New York City Applebee's admitted accidentally serving a 5-year-old a Long Island iced tea alcoholic drink instead of apple juice. |

OK, this was seriously a news story here in GR a few years back... So funny it made its way to youtube. I can't look at a dachshund the same after this one! |
Well, yeah, ride naked at night......gee whiz, where the sport in that? Try 7,000 foot high elevation high UV light on those tender areas not designed to see light. Having one naked bike ride is fine, keep it, we don't need another. SF is weird enough. As for dog poop....it is so nasty to leave your dog's feces on other people's property. |
Easy one here! Mine is the lady who tried to mail a puppy through the mail in a priority mailer box in February. She was caught, arrested and did NOT get the puppy back! Initial news story: http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2011/02/0 ... py-in-box/ Adoption of the puppy: There were so many people wanting to adopt, they did a drawing from the approved applicants: http://www.startribune.com/local/116467498.html In defense of all Minnesotans, I must add that this lady was from Georgia, and was mailing the puppy as a birthday gift to a relative in Ga. |
Wow, on a serious note, what the $#@% was going through that woman's head??? It's also a bit sad about these unusual cases that get a lot of media attention. Whenever there's one like that (same in Canada as in the US I suspect), there's always a lot of people wanting to adopt the animal in question. But if all these people are ready and willing for a new pet in their house, why aren't they all going home with one of the many (I suspect) other adoptable animals in the shelter? What difference does it make if one puppy ends up at the shelter because some idiot tried to mail it, or another puppy who is in the shelter because of the much more common, un-newsworthy even of being abandoned at the side of the road? Both puppies need loving homes and both puppies could make extremely rewarding and loving companions. Sorry for being a downer in this entertainment thread |

Ok that's good! |
How many are old enough or maybe just aware, chicks and bees were commonly shipped through the mail. Come spring the post offices were alive with peep-peeps and bzzzzz (and nervous mail clerk). |
I remember and even in the 90's around Milw some were shipped to the P.O. A co-worker was there at the time and someone asked why chicks were being shipped and the post-master said snake food. Could have gone forever not knowing that, wish she hadn't of shared. |
They still ship chicks - but they are same day and in special boxes. Also, they go to the post office and you need to come pick them up. We have done this many times ourselves, also 3 family members work for the post office. And not for snake food! Around here people use frozen mice...... |
Thanks Dawn, I wasn't sure it was still done. Here I just go to the feed store. Bees we would get from friends. |

And...once again, because apparently this doesn't work well on BEARS either...who knew? http://www.ktva.com/news/local/Police-D ... 28113.html |
A variation of plains Indians "counting coup", touching the enemy, not killing them. This is "bear coup?" At first it seems like an interesting theory to discourage bears.......instead has created really pissed off bears. We are going to need something here. Prolonged drought, bears are coming out and finding no food or water so will be high tailing it for McDonald's drive thrus shortly. |
