It doesn't really matter how good Tiggy is at agility

We've just got home from our 8th week of agility foundation at our new school and Wayne asked if Tiggy starred. She actually did really well and is learning a tensy bit of self control when many factors and the stars all line up correctly.

However I don't think it really will matter whether we're ever any good. Tonight the another owner came and asked me could she say hello to Tiggy. One by one most everyone has waited till they haven't got their dog with them and approached me to see if it's ok to pat Tiggy.

Tiggy is of course VERY ok with it :yay: so I tell them that as long as they're happy to be jumped on they should go right ahead and make Tiggy's day. :high5:

So we may never q in a trial but Tiggy is thrilled with her social status. :excited: Little Miss Popular.

Totally agree, Mim!!!!

We are making so many friends at our classes. And I know that Heart will never be a great agililty dog, ((she is waay ttoo slow)), I love seeing her little tusch walking the dog walk, teeter, Aframe..and her favorites...the tunnel and pause table....
Tiggy says "So true! Heart and I have our priorities right, it's all about lovin' on people" :clappurple:
Maybe it goes back to the breed's begining......some lead the flock down the road.....the slow dogs while others pushed from the back........those a bit more exciteable. Tiggy and Heart were from the first group, "we'll get there, in the front, but at our own pace."

I don't know about that though, at least not about a genetic difference, because we have pictorial proof that related sheepies can end up being either "slow" or "excited" ones!

nice, David!!!!! :? :?

Thanks Susan!!!! I make me feel so much better that there may be a reason behind our little slow-poke other than being lazy ~~~~
Heart is a leader, keeping the flock together by her slow pace. The rude boy behind is pushing the flock forward......just the flock is missing in this picture.
Val, honey - don't you for a moment accept that Heart is slow. She's deliberate. She will get it right first and then pick up speed with confidence.

This is directly in contrast to Tiggy, who will blow through everything and eventually learn that she has to be more deliberate or risk not being allowed on anyone's equipment

They'll both get there in their own way.

And mine are also the resident social butterflies. This past weekend I moved Macy up to Excellent Jumpers. She ran beautifully, won the class and picked up her first AXJ leg. Great! Next was Excellent Standard. She was doing great. Got on the table. Saw judge. Saw judge looking at her (sort of, as he was counting) Decided judge wanted to say hi. Jumped off the table and ran over to kiss judge. Kiss Q goodbye :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Theory? Breeders have unwittingly selected for the flirtatious social butterflies as those are the dogs in our breed who stood the best chance of living long enough to be able to reproduce   :P

What can you do? They are who they are   8)

It really is too bad that Tiggy lives oceans away from us because I think if we put her in the backyard with Harry and Heart, then Heart might actually get to do some agility while Harry and Tiggy kill each other racing to be the first one to the obstacles.

I am not surprised Tiggy is so popular with the other owners.
Hah good point Judi. It would be a case of the tortise and the harebrains all over again.

Tiggy and Harry would be tangled up in the tunnel and Heart would be proudly completing the course with no lost points.

If we all kicked in enough cash to get Tiggy on this side of the big pond, we could all watch this!

Trust me - I'm already thinking that. Rumor has it there will be a small Australian invasion at the 2012 national in Wisconsin including some performance folks! Now to get Tiggy & Mim over here... 8)

I'll be checking our lottery tickets this weekend! If we win big, I'll gladly sponsor a North American tour of the Astounding Agility Queen Tiggy!!
Don't tempt me!!!! 8) And remember you'll have to factor in the expense of 3 months quarantine if I'm to get Tiggy back to Australia.

And trust me you may not want to keep her once you've experienced her enthusiasm for life. Forget extreme agility! Tiggy does extreme living.
