Yes, Gary, your dog can be shaved - all over. Many pictures are here too of different trim styles. |
absolutely! Get rid of the puppy fluff & let the good adult coat come in the easy way! |
Be prepared to have an unusually cuddly puppy!!! |
Yes! You are entering the Danger Zone where puppy hair transitions to adult hair......it is horrible. Save yourself twice daily grooming, shave your darling. Don't laugh at the results, your puppy will be traumatized by the sudden new sensation, don't compound it by laughing. I always heap praise on the new "greyhound" adding lots of "rubbies" and encouraging plenty of running around letting the breeze blow against the skin. When it's rest and snuggle time I might make a game of wrapping them up in a "blankie" but soon they just fine with their new do. |
Hi thanks for the replys!! yeh hes getting very notty and hard to groom. can anyone show me any pics of there shaven puppys??? |
Here Howie's photo, this was taken a few weeks ago, right after he came home from the groomer. I'm not crazy about it being this close of a shave, but it has grown fast. Howie became a HUGE cuddlebug...he is always snuggling into us, love it! I brush Howie nightly for 5 minutes just to keep the routine and reduce the chance of grooming becoming a battle once the long hair is back in. It will make your life so much easier as your pup gets adult hair, and with it being mud season. Can't wait to see your photos, peg |
Here is a picture of my foster girl Bunny after I shaved her - she came into rescue too dirty and matted up to save her hair. and about a month later - |
