ONE (1) YEAR OLD OES AVAILABLE **FREE** IN CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA.................. NO SHOTS, NO LICENSE, BUT A FULLY ACTIVE SHEEPIE AND READY FOR A GREAT HOME.......... ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PICK HIM ("AXLE") UP. PICTURE AVAILABLE. TOO MANY DOGS AT ONE HOME.......DOWN SIZING ... JUST HEARD ABOUT THIS... |
Is there any contact info available? Do you know if a rescue has been contacted? This ad sounds like a dog in trouble to me...no shots...free..."downsizing." None of this sounds good. Are there any local rescues that can help? |
Owner explained he got axel from a farm, he didn't believe he's been to a vet or had any shots. I found him on a Classified Website that mostly covers western Pa. I have picture and would forward to anyone interested. I told the owner that I would come and pick him up, but it's a four hour ride each way. I at least have him on hold for today and may be able to extend to tomorrow. send me an email and I will return picture. |
I have a really GREAT applicant in PA looking for a dog! Do you hav any contact info or tell me where it is listed? Thank you!! I can also let Cindy in MD know as I think they have a few people up there looking as well!! |
I posted on the other thread to you....can you email me so, I can see what I can do to help! Thanks....carolinasoes@gmail.com |
You might send Kathy a private message with contact info just in case he isn't yet altered. I've heard of some breeders who have recently been looking for new dogs and trying to pick up free dogs. Hoping he'll find a great home. |

I have tried to find the ad but, have not been able to |
I'm going to merge the two threads on this into the dogs in trouble forum. |

TADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Mike sent this to me last night from the owner |
1) Welcome back Cindy!!! 2) Fabulous effort to help this dog...great job to all involved 3) and a PICTURE too??? WOW! |
He is resting at Ginnys house. He seems to be a good boy and the man that had him really loved him but could not get the grooming down. He is very matted and will need to be shaved, He has to get all his shots, rabies HW and lyme tested and a fecal done. This will all come out of Ginnys and my pocket I have a great potential home that applied for another sheepdog I took in but there was only one dog to go around!!!! The adoption fee will hardly touch what we are paying out ........tell me why I do this again??? Well look at his face Ginny has 5 dogs 4 sheepies and she will make sure all his needs are met Then I will pick him up and see if he is a match for this family I have in mind They have a labradoodle and 2 cats and she works from the home. Sounds like sheepie heaven. We are a great bunch if I so say so myself!!!!!! Maybe we need an OES.Org rescue |
It is a tough thing to do sometimes but, the dogs are worth it |
RESCUE COMPLETE Ginny from central Pa. picked up Axel on Sunday a.m Gentleman who had Axel became very distrusting in myself as I attempted to drag out the time in which he would be picked up....Ginny had plans for Tuesday to take him directly to the vet and spa for initial shots (kennel cough) and initital cutting and cleaning. (Ginny reported he was quite a tangled mess), but very playful, and energetic. She also said he doesn't like to ride in cars, so the 4 hour ride with myself would of been horrifying, thankfully she was just an hour away. He is headed for a great and long life with a family that will love him and have the time for him............. See report and picture under 4 DOG NIGHT THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR HELP .............MOLLY AND I GREATLY APPRECIATE KNOWING YOU'RE THERE. |
SOMETIMES THEY TURN OUT WONDERFUL This is the reply from the girlfriend (Crista / Mike owner) that initiated the ad for Axel in the Classifieds............ I wrote her to tell her the plans for Axel ane to assure her of the safe environment he was now in. you can find both my letter and her reply below...........Thanks again to ALL..... I understand and yeah its not that he wasn't loved but with 4 dogs and working 6 days a week neither mike nor I could give the dogs the attention he needs and he loves to play n run.thanks again I'm glad he is getting the care he needs .take care Michael Bushey <notpresbush@yahoo.com> wrote: >Crista and Mike........ > This is just to let you know "Axel" is in great hands with a OES (Old English Sheepdog) Rescue Team and is now being groomed and to the vet for all his needed shots. I'm sorry to misrepresent myself as the one that wanted the dog (really I would love to have another OES, but for room), but we try our best to rescue any sheepie that needs attention.. Although this little guy wasn't in danger, It should be everyones responsibility to do all they can to control the pet population. There are just too many animals out there without loving families. (although that wasn't the case here) He will be groomed, cleaned, licensed and ready for a GREAT permanent family, that will love him for sure. I believe he is headed for Virginia or N.C. >thanks, Mike |
Please see post in members only re:rescue funds |
He is headed to a home here in maryland. Ginny has gotten him shaved (he was sooo good) and his shots He is Positive for lyme disease but he has medication and will be fine. He will be neutered tomorrow and after a brief rest ginny and I will meet and he will come to crazyacres. We will see how he is with my pack and how his lyme affects him I have decided we need an OES rescue group here and will be starting the process Anyone in the MD, VA,DC,Pa and del area we would love help I love GSD's and Labs and especially black dogs but have decided to do only OES with the new group. I belong to other rescues to save other breeds. stay tuned |
Cindy I can help in Central (north) to Western, Pa. in any way possible..........let me know Mike |
Speaking for myself, I DO appreciate all of you that search classifieds, craigs list, oddle etc..... I do not personally check all the time and having people keep their eyes open so we can get the dog into the appropraite rescue group is a HUGE help! Thank you!!!!!!!!!! |
That sounds wonderful Good luck to all you wonderful OES lovers out east! |
Ginny and Cindy had Axel groomed today and neutered tomorrow! How CUTE?????????? |
WOW you are all amazing! Thanks for all you do! He is a cutie! |
He looks fabulous with his new haircut Thanks for helping him! |
I have some news on Axel. I can't say I am totally happy but Ginny refuses to give him up She is a good home BUT he was promised to the family here in Maryland and they were so excited. They had pictures of him and were eagerly awaiting his arrival. I ask Ginny several times if she intended to keep him and said said no. So I contacted this family. This does not look good on me and I am really not happy. I will not trust her to pick up another dog , I am afraid she will do the same thing. meanwhile I have a very dissapointed family here and I feel terrible. I need to find them a sheepdog. I will not work rescue with this woman EVER |
