Dominence thingy happening, if you see it happening divert the behaviour or just let them work it out who rules the realm. Not sexual just who is going to be in charge. My babette humped her brother when younger as a dominance trait, it's stopped now due to her telling him I am QUEEN of this realm. It took me by surprise as I have only ever had bitches for years and not experienced this at all, yes she is entire but also she has a pushy brother she wanted to put him in his place. When I saw her doing it, I said "OFF" and eventually it worked, no more humping him she tells him off if he tries anything with her especially if the piglet boy tries to steal her dinner, she is a slow but good eater he is a Hoover Vacuum cleaner gone in 30 seconds. So normal especially for a pack of girls, there vying for WHO rules the realm. Not to be encouraged and intervention if you see it happening, that is by a firm "Off" or "No" to the humping culprit or "re-directing" the action to other activites. Dont worry it is just a "Who is in Charge or wants to rule the Pack" dominant behaviour to tell the others. Hopefully they will sort out the order and it will stop amongst the girls. If not also show your Dis-Pleasure when you can and see it and if possible also re-direct that to other things to take that off the one that is Humping. Otherwise let them work it out and see WHO ends up ruling the roost, just fairly normal I rule and AM queen to be behaviour amongst all the girls. |
Yep, no big deal. Working out the leader and then reinforcing it. Paige was always pack leader but her play with Sam always included some interesting humping positions |
I have 3 girls as well. China, my Aussie, is the humper in oour crowd. She never comes near Violet the OES, but has had a "humping" issue with Asia, who is her niece. I've noticed if I tell Asia to do something or stop doing something and she doesn't respond to my command, China will jump in and start to hump her, which I stop immediatly. So, in those instances, I feel China thinks she is telling Asia to listen to me. On other occasions, I don't see any instagation and China will try to hump Asia, who is 4 inches taller then China at the weithers, and I will tell her to stop and sometimes will have to push her off. Asia is now starting to "move away" when China starts and all stops. It didn't happen that often and is happening less now. China and Asia are like buddies, they look out for each other. When Asia first came to us, China used to eat half of her dinner and then look over at Asia and give her a signal then Asia would come over and eat the rest of China's food. I always found that interesting like a Mom taking care of her baby. My brother's two female labs used to hump each other too. |
