Should I leave them alone

Well, I'm really thinking about leaving the dogs together when I leave for work. Usually what we have been doing is....Mattie gets gated in the hallway with the 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Frankie gets the family room. Then when the dog walker comes over at 2 they get to stay together until I get home around 6:30. They have run of the house at night when we go to bed. So far there haven't been any issues. If Frankie does something stupid, then mattie will growl or snap never making contact. There has never been any blood. Last week Mattie has started not wanting to go in the hall way when we leave. Is it time? Looking for suggestions.

Since they do ok now from afternoon till 6:30, I think they will likely be just fine :D . If you are really uncertain, could you dash home at lunch and check on them for the first couple of days? Or maybe ask the dogwalker to check in for you?
We did the same thing for a while...One dog in the kitchen area and one in the other area which inculdes my father's bedroom...We now keep them together all day and the younger one still stays in the kitchen area and the older one still stays in my father's room...They got used to their own space and like it I guess! Anyay, my Dad is home in case of any problems but he has told me they both usually go to sleep while I am at work...

If you ahve a walker come in, I would imagine if she saw a problem, she would seperate them. My bet is, they will stay in the areas they are used to - even if they're allowed to venture into the other areas.. I still do pick up any toys or bones when I'm away and they are together. Avoid any pissibility of fighting over these things. And they both ahve their own water dish...I leave nothing they may squabble about....

But you know your dogs...
I agree with Diane, they each have their own space established now and will probably revert to them. Initially they may be curious why they are together, but that will change. I'd give them the house.
