Chewie had a great weight pull today!
 All the dog were pulling less than normal (and we later figured out why..) Chewie was in the 61-70# class, and got 1st place. He pulled 1440#.  He also pulled 22.50%, which is 22.5 times his weight. They award High Percentage in two divisions - Division 1 is dogs 60 pounds and under, and Division 2 is dogs 61 pounds and over. Chewie won the Division 2 rosette for "Most weight pulled per pound of body weight"!  This is the 1st time he ever has won that - so I was super happy for us  , and so proud of my boy  And why we all pulled less.... we pulled small to big, and by the time the bigger dogs were pulling (after mine, thank goodness), the cart just started squeaking, then screeching horrible. We finished the last class, and the guys took off the caps on the wheels and found all 4 wheel bearing were bone dry! So, we took them all apart (I was the solvent/brush scrubbing lady  and scrubbed them), and they were getting put back together and packed (lubed) when I headed home. Tomorrow should be WAY better for weights - more back to normal! |
