But wait there's more! The show was sooooo good with uprights and their furballs dancing to various music which ranged from country and western to even opera. The dogs were amazing zipping in and out of their owners legs and jumping on command. The best was a Water Spaniel whom danced the tango with his upright, even retrieving a rose for her at the end. He stole the hearts of the crowd. I really liked another act which featured a woman dressed as a pirate and her dog picked up a plastic sword and had a duel with her. Then there were the dogs whom were performing for the first time that didn't do what they were supposed to...but oh well...we all appreciated the effort. I had the opportunity to treat my friend and her little boy to join us as the price was good. It was nice to be able to do that as I'm always watching my pennies. Afterwards another treat...a wonderful resturant across the street which served a desert called Decandent!! Chocolate Cheese cake with whipped cream...oh yum..to die for! Such a wonderful day! Best of all I've signed Merlin up for obedience and Panda for dance classes!! Can't wait till we start!!! Marianne |

Sounds like fun.
Any word on the comercial? |
I've been trying to get my boyfirend to take ball room dancing with me (in preparation for my son's wedding this summer). He isn't very enthusiastic about it. Maybe I could take lessons with Tasker and take him to the reception instead!!!! |
That sounds like fun, I've never heard of anything like that. Taskers Mom, I wonder if someone makes a tux for dogs |
If Albertsmommy was around she could tell you where to get one. She has pictures of Albert in his tux. |
Hmmmmmmmm........ as long as it doesn't cost as much as my gown and my daughters (she's a bridesmaid), I could feed a sheepdog for 2 years on what the clothes for this wedding cost!!!!! |
Hi,
I realized after writing this post that not all may be familiar with this activity to do with your dog. Can see people thinking the dogs are held up by the owners and made to dance. Haven't we all goofed around with our dogs and done that at least once? This is agility combined with a choreographed performance to music by dog and handler. While the dogs don't have to have obedience training to enter it is important that the dog sits, stays and overall is well behaved. The dogs do a series of "tricks" to go with the music of choice. It seemed that most went under the legs of their handler...both forwards and backwards! Some did jumps, some did several roll overs on the dance floor. There were some that barked on command to the music and others that twirled. While I had seen and explored a couple of websites it seems that the twirling , and going under and backwards under the handlers legs are pretty standard. The handlers imagination and creativity is what makes a winner. Taskers mom..Hee Hee yup if you can't get the hubby to take dance lessons..you can always take it with Tasker. Daisie's mom - No word yet on the commercial...means I'm still in the running..I mean Panda is. Keeping fingers crossed. Ha - Just had a thought..would be kinda hard to have a Sheepie go under my legs as I'm just over 5 ft tall...umm wonder if jumping over my bent body would be allowed. Marianne |
