I am going to install brand new floor board. Any advise before Biscuit starts the damage? Anything I can do with her nails? Thanks Johnson |

Distressed Hardwood Floors I installed them and LOVE them, dog nail scratches and marks just blend right in. |
I am going to have it painted white , hope it doesn't show too much scratch... |
I have polished boards but they are baltic pine, it's very soft and they are dented with groups of 4 dents from Tiggy screeching to a halt or trying to make it round corners at full pelt. As long as your dog/s NEVER run or jump on the boards you should be fine. Errr, good luck with that! |
As lovely as painted floor are, they do not hold up. Nothing on the market will protect them from normal wear, let alone dog wear. Unless you like the........distressed look...scuffs, scratches, etc....I'd urge rethinking......maybe more of a pickled look, not a full paint. |
If you like the look of distressed paint, then go for it! And don't paint the exra money for the distress. The dogs will do it in about amonth! We have "antique pine"...The more they scratch it up, the better it looks - if you like that look! And I do. Originally they wanted me to pay thousands more for the antiquing/distressed look...Why would I do that? My dogs do it for free! |

Rent-a-sheepie and distress your floors cheap!! |
We have hardwoods...just get used to scratches!!!!But on the good side it is easier to sweep a floor with a broom than vacumn..or replace CHEWED CARPET!!! Still tryying to convince hubby distressed look is tres chic!!! |
